The Suggs thing has been said over too many times, but it's true. You would never guess Suggs ran a 4.8-4.9. Jones never seemed overly athletic to me, ie why I was never a huge fan, but I have no problem with his stock late in round one. He dominated the SEC for two years, and he was still very raw as a pass rusher as a sophomore.

I would love to get Jarvis Jones. I've watched a lot of UGA football and there have been a lot of games when this dude just straight up took over and couldn't be stopped.

The thing about Suggs is he was predominantly a pass rushing DE and weighed almost 30 lbs heavier. He was the complete package coming out. Not a hybrid type.
Now Ive seen Jones play a lot, and yes he has had great games and made big plays but I just dont like the guy. If he falls to 30 thats great, but is he a fit for us? Im not so sure.

JMO but Nolan would be able to do a lot more with this defense with hybrid types. Abraham dropped into coverage a good bit but he was of course a 4-3 end for the large majority of his career.

Jarvis Jones is a pass rusher straight up. I don't care what his 40 time is, he knows how to get to the QB. Thats what we need.

It's being reported that the Falcons are making a strong push for Osi Umenyiora and it's very likely he ends up here. Just gotta get him for cheap so we can stay under the cap.

Osi wants to get paid. And he wants to start. And will only play RE. If Nolan wants to drop him in coverage from time to time he won't be a fan of it.
But having that said, he's gonna make a big play every game. He's a great sack specialist, and he is the best strip sacker in the league. Can't play the run very well, but he'll definitely improve your pass rush.

Umenyiora is 31 and had 2 more sacks than Kroy Biermann last year. He's probably not getting a lot of interest, so the Falcons should be able to get him cheap.

He also didnt get ample playing time, whether that was b/c of performance or not idk, What I do know is he is an upgrade over what we have, and has done well before.

I want Osi, Abraham, and to trade up for Dion Jordan or Zeke Ansah.

That's bc he was sitting behind JPP. Look at the year before when he was starting. Osi can get you at least 10 sacks a season. It's just at the price of run defense.
I think Osi will definitely have a great year in Atlanta.

Yes, it is very important to Jackson that he be "the guy." If he doesn't get the ball enough he will say so, and will sometimes pout about it. But he will give you everything he has, and as long as he gets the ball enough and at critical times he will be a great player for you.

Sabastian Vollmer with 8.2 million guarenteed... 4 years/17 million and can reach 4 years/~30 million.
Sam Baker is going to haunt me.

Not a terrible deal, but to think Dumervil wasnt much more per year saddens me.

Grimes has signed with the Dolphins...No big argument from me
Robert McClain played good in his absence.

I'm surprised Grimes only got a 1 year deal, but still it's for 5.5 mill. We couldn't afford that right now.
We still have 2 good CBs on the roster in Samuel and McClain, but drafting one in the first round is the biggest possibility right now especially after losing Chris Owens. We don't have a nickel.

Really hoping for Trufant or Rhodes. We should be able to land on of them. And hoping Okafor lasts till 62.
