I can understand that given the general lack of draft picks but if Jacksonville takes Jordan and the Saints don't move up, the Jets take Mingo. then New Orleans is looking at Jarvis Jones (if he even makes it to them) who is probably not well suited to be an every-down linebacker and is also an injury liability. if they don't take him the options get kind of limited, no? I mostly did this knowing how much Saints fans tend to disagree with Vaccaro as the pick.

nah the options are pretty decent, if jordan, ansah, mingo, jones, werner, milliner, joeckel, fisher, lane johnson and star are all gone vaccaro would be a more acceptable pick but there is need for a ton of depth on D but not really for starters (certainly after signing butler, although your mock might predate that). Basically there is no need that would justify giving up that much (again), its not like mingo is good value at that spot, its trading up to pick a player high, not trading up to keep a great value from falling any further.

I definitely dig it for Miami. At this point though, that trade up would probably be for Eric Fisher. But either way I'd be happy.

Buffalo trading down to the teens is definitely a winner with me and definitely a better spot to take Barkley.

I'd be disappointed in getting only a 3rd this year but the future 2nd doesn't hurt either.

I can only see a Corner in the 1st for the Bengals is if he is the clear cut #1 player on their board.

I dont see the 49ers taking Ertz especially with their 1st pick. If he falls I can see them taking him but TE isnt that big of a need to waste their first pick on. But I do think they take a TE at some point in the draft.

If the Bills take Barkley in Round 1, they should be tested for drugs. This QB over-evaluation crap is annoying. Look at the Jags. They drafted Gabbert way too high two years ago, and now they may replace him two years later. Why don't other teams learn from this?

Because when it goes right you end up with a franchise QB.

49ers DO NOT need a TE until mid 3rd or 4th. Just a terrible pick there ugh.

ok I changed some picks and got rid of the trades to simplify things a little. only one I feel I might need to explain myself on is Eifert to St. Louis which I think is pretty simple. he is the best 'receiver' on the board and between he and Cook you can create tons of mismatches and run some mean 2-TE sets. plus WR is one of the deeper positions in this draft so you can always hit it later

also, Tavon to Carolina because they sent a lot of reps to the WVU pro-day and indications are they plan on taking a receiver early.

As I posted in another mock thread, Star to the Jets doesn't make that much sense to me. They've spent their last two first round picks on 3-4 ends, and a third round pick the year before last on a 3-4 nose.

They did get rid of Pouha, but he was hurt a lot last year so Ellis played plenty and was more than good enough. For a team that has a good defensive line already, really needs an edge rusher, and help on offense, I don't think a NT (particularly one with health question marks) makes that much sense. Won't say it won't or shouldn't happen and if he's healthy it's a good value, but I think they could go in a number of better directions there.

Star to the Jets is so wrong it's absurd. They have a 2011 and 2012 1st rounder at both 3-4 DE positions, nickel DTs. There is absolutely no reason why they would take Star over Mingo, so he can play 2 downs at NT? Awful pick and awful mock.

it's more of a prediction to the team than the actual slot itself. take it with a grain of salt - I'm sure that if the Bills take Barkley they will trade down, I'm just not sure with who. and as you've already seen pleasing both sides on that is not a slam dunk
