I think he's a solid OT at the next level.

He just moves so well.

His arms etc will stop him from being elite, but solid has value.

I don't see him having the base to be an OG.

Kiper has him listed as a center in his latest rankings. Crazy projection seeing as a 6'5" center is not seen.

Matt Birk

Going from OT to OG is pretty easy, but center is another planet. You would not believe the number if great OLmen I have seen that cannot snap the ball and move to save their life.

watching him reminds me of watching rodney hudson a few years ago, i know hudson is a center....but i dont think ive ever see pugh miss an assignment, ever

which is what we saw with hudson.....pugh is slightly undersized and his strength leaves something to be desired but he is a player that just doesnt **** up

Levitre is a good comp, maybe Sam Baker. Hudson isn't bad either.

I think Pugh is much better suited at guard or RT.

Doug Marrone would probably love to pick him up, too bad it probably won't work out.

Don't be surprised if Pugh does end up at center. It is a possibility. He really could play anywhere on the offensive line.

I won't argue that he could possibly play anywhere on the line. For a player that has proven to be really good at left tackle, why would you want to kick him all the way inside to center?

His versatility probably gets him drafter a little higher than he would be. I'm still seeing early second round.

I think that's get overblown. There's no doubt he has shorter arms than you'd like to see but he was very good this past season at Syracuse. If I'm drafting him, he's gonna get a shot at left tackle till he proves the arm length will be a problem in the league.

Joe Thomas and Jake Long both have arm lengths under 33" so it's not an automatic determinant that he can't play there.

Preface:

This is going to sound like a slam on you -- it's not. You aren't normally taken to this kind of remark so I hope the distinction between speaker and statement is clear.

Particularly since you saw the results of Tom Cable's offensive line of misfit linemen. He's definitely not a measurables conformist.

I personally love that rigid NFL groupthink. The good ole Tannenbaum/Lombardi variety (condolences to Browns fans everywhere). Leaves good players cast aside all over for teams who have a FO with balls to simply pick them up off the ground. Usually guys that have a pretty good chip on their shoulders and come into the league hungry.

The Seahawks thanks the NFL for that. Every April. So do the Patriots. And the Packers. And Ravens. We'll see if we can add the Niners to that group too. This should be the year they wash the taste of the 2012 draft out of their collective mouths. Same with Miami. They should kill the draft this year.

It's definitely something I hope other teams keep clinging to. Like babies that don't want to be weaned. Because the draft favors the bold. If you go into it looking for 'the next ...' guy, you're just going to be disappointed. You need the vision to be able to see 'the first ... ' guy for what they are. And the stones to not care what the majority of the NFL thinks.

Worry about whether the guys can play. The measurables comes after.

Strength and anchor might be another thing. I get that he's a technician and he's versatile, but he's not really a guy that wows you off the bat.

If Pugh didn't have terrific movement skills and balance I'd probably be more concerned with his arm length.

I'm not going to sit here and critique how a lineman looks, as I don't necessarily expect them to be toned and well shaped. Remember, he also had a shoulder injury this past season so I'm not sure how much time he was able to workout throughout the season.
