Default Shane's Final 2013 Mock Draft

2013 Final Mock Draft (can be edited 24 hours after posted)

Disclaimer: This mock is a combination of player values, fits to teams, etc. It doesn't help me for you to complain about positions of need, you don't like the guy your team got, etc. What helps is if scheme fit is wrong, etc. It is far from perfect, guys dropping two extra rounds than I wanted etc.

If you think I missed someone (or have someone twice,) then let me know. It happened, I've gone cross-eyed and can't do it anymore, lol.

If you criticize a 5th-7th rounder, I will laugh at you.

Gotta level with ya here:

I don't love Gooden over Swearinger, and I don't love the fact that the Chiefs don't address QB at all. Tyler Wilson doesn't go until the fourth, and the Chiefs don't even think about takin him? Come on Shane! Joeckel is bad enough but you're KILLIN ME HERE!

You did your best to make me feel better over the inevitable 1st round pick that is Ryan Nassib. For that, I appreciate your efforts very much because the rest of those picks I would love.

Good Packers work.
PrinceFielder convinced you on Pugh. I love Margus in late Rd 2 although I think Patton is going to be a stud and would accept him.
Good work the rest of the way for us, especially the kicker! I want either of those Florida boys to be our new kicker.

Jaguars make out like bandits getting Barkley there.
Very underrated at this point, reminds me of Ole Miss' Eli Manning.

I like the draft for the Jets. I think they'll grab a TE somewhere but overall, I can't complain.

And props on going 7 rounds. I've done it once. It ain't easy as you probably know haha.

That is an absolutely awful pick for the Bears in the first round. Every move they have made this offseason indicates a desire to win now and right the Cutler ship. Am I allowed to criticize a pick that is not at all in line with with the needs or direction of the organization?

Had to put him somewhere. Maybe Bears trade down from 20 to someone, seems possible

Couple things for SF:

1) Not sure Kelce is a good fit for SF but it's a possibility I guess.
2) Is Brian Winters being drafted as a Center or just to be a backup Guard? If the latter then that's too high to pick a backup Guard IMO. We already have Looney and Kilgore from recent drafts still on the roster.

I also think you have some picks mixed up for us. I believe we have the following picks:

157, 175, 180, 237, 246, 252.

You have down:

157, 164, 180, 227, 237, 246, 252

Maybe missed something with the Colt McCoy trade?

All in all very good job, well done.

Solid draft for the Rams, even though I think Corner is a bigger need than a lot of people think. We have four on the team right now, one is an undrafted free agent last year and two of them have a lot of baggage (Janoris Jenkins, Trumaine Johnson) and who knows if they can go an entire season without getting into some kind of trouble. Depth at the position is a must.

I actually would favor a corner in the 2nd over a Guard. There were rumors swirling around St. Louis that suggested Harvey Dahl could be cut to make room for the draft picks, but with the restructuring of Chris Long's contract and saving 4.5 million, you don't need to cut Dahl. Which means Guard isn't a "big" need like some seem to think it is, they drafted Rokevious Watkins who impressed last year in pre-season. And if you look at Fisher's drafts in the past, taking an O-lineman in the later rounds and having them spend a year developing before throwing them into the starting lineup is something he's done pretty often. I fully expect our two starting guards next season to be Dahl and Watkins.

Pretty good Titans draft. I'm not a fan of a DT in the first, but if Star or Floyd fall, I could see it happening. In this scenario with my ideal targets all going before 10, it seems like the right pick.

You hit our needs very well in the other rounds though, good job.

Colt McCoy trade:

CLE receives: #164, #227

SF receives: Colt McCoy and # 175 (or 173 depending on your source)

Watson won't be Baltimore's selection at 32. He doesn't fit Newsome's first pick profile of a "safe" guy with experience at all. You've known what you're getting with pretty much all of the guys Newsome has taken with his first pick. Personally I'm not really against Watson as the pick I just don't see it happening at all.

I really like Moore in the second round. Harper is alright in the third round. Jones and Reddick are solid 4th round picks although I question if they will double-dip at LB. Boyett and Gragg are decent in the 5th round. Hawthorne, Williams, Wilson, McCaleb, and Barnes are fine to end it.

Outside of the Watson pick the only thing I don't think is going to happen is waiting until the 5th round to address safety. It's probably the biggest need on the team and I think they will want to get a quality prospect.

i'm not really sold on brandon kaufman at 246 i think the 49ers could have held off until 252 to take him, he's a bit of a reach that early in the comps

I was thinking the exact same thing. Kaufman's 4.67 40 really made him drop in my rankings but I think #252 is decent value but a bit of a reach @ #246

Yeah Shane I like this mock for San Fran. I don't personally like Eric Reid but I'm not going to knock you for it. I think Kelce is a nice fit in San Fran especially since he played H at Cincy. Agree with Shupp if the Niners go offensive line it will probably be an OT it's the only line position they are thin at. Lastley I love Zac Stacey but he wouldn't make the roster with all the talented backs they have. All in All nice work my friend!

Not really a fan of that Jets draft, you had me at Mingo but it was downhill from there. Vaccaro would be much better than Austin at 13, I don't see us taking another slot receiver as Kerley has been great in that role. No TE drafted at all seems horrible, and Wolff in the 3rd is a fairly considerable reach and I don't think he'd be much of an upgrade over Josh Bush. The only two later round FSs I see being viable starters potentially are Tony Jefferson and Josh Evans.
