Anyone else really intrigued by the rumors of us moving into the Top 10 for Lane Johnson? That'd be pretty sweet.

That rumor is coming from Mike Preston. Move along, nothing to see here.

Isn't he the guy that wrote the Ravens didn't want to keep Ed Reed?

I'm not sure, I don't pay attention to anything Preston does anymore. If he's named as a "source" for a rumor I just disregard the whole thing.

I complained that we had #32 for a second and then remembered we won. **** yes.

Its also an incredibly nice feeling knowing we have capable people running our draft.

How about David Amerson in round 2 guys? I would prefer that and take a WR or Arthur Brown in round 1.

I like Amerson as long as he doesn't play CB. My guess for tonight is Minter.

Love the Elam pick, he's a killer. IMO Cyprien is the better fit beside Huff, but can't hate on the Elam pick. With the excess of picks I think you have to move up in the 2nd, Teo, Minter, Brown all still on the board. Not to mention other guys of interest like Justin Hunter, Robert Woods, Menelik Watson, Terron Armestead, and Jonathan Banks.

I love it I was torn between him and Cyprien but I'll live with Elam. definitely gives us the enforcer that we lost in Pollard.

WELCOME TO BALTIMORE!!

Agree that trading up tomorrow is a good idea. We have the ammo to get it done. Would like all the names you listed except TeŽo and Banks.
I like Elam, but he was 6th on my wishlist for Baltimore. Love the way he plays the game, but his size scares me a bit. He could have a Bob Sanders like career, where he is great when he is on the field, but may have trouble avoiding injuries. That being said, he is one feisty motherf*ckr.

No question Elam is the safety in the draft with all pro potential, just a little nervous about his size and fundamentals.

I think Arthur Brown would be the perfect fit, adding him to Elam, Doom, and other pieces would really make a statement in a cultural shift in the defense.

Love Elam for you guys. Great pick. I'm sure you feel the same way as Jones. Looks like the AFCN has had a solid first round again.

Jarvis Jones is such a Pittsburgh pick (meaning that as a good thing lol). He's a good fit for that team and should instantly be a better pass-rusher than Harrison was the last couple of seasons.

I'm happy with Elam. It sounds like Newsome really likes him. I would have preferred Cyprien but the Ravens usually shy away from small school players with their first pick so I'm not surprised he wasn't the pick. Of course they usually don't take guys who declared as juniors either but Elam still had a lot of experience in the best college football conference.

I saw some ppl tweet claiming huff/Elam is better cover combo then reed/pollard. Idk about that but I do like the pick. An enforcer like pollard who can line up against slot wide recievers is perfect for us.

It's definitely a better man-coverage combination than Reed and Pollard. Huff can man-up against WRs and TEs and Elam can cover the slot too. I'm not sure about the deep zone though. Pollard didn't add anything there but Ed Reed was still Ed Reed. If his other skills were eroding he still had the range/intimidation back there.

Although I'm disappointed we passed on Arthur, my head said we would take Elam and I'm just fine with that pick. Definitely a guy who 'plays like a Ravens' and fills a big need for us and could potentially (and hopefully) be a week one starter.

I was sold on the Ravens taking Brown or Te'o due to my own wanting of Elam falling to the second. lol

Hate to toot my own horn buuuut
I'm telling you boys, I call it every year!
Love the Elam pick - when you think of 1 player that plays like a Raven - it's Elam.

Strengths: Great leader in the locker room.. Intense in practice and on game day.. The most physical and aggressive safety in this class, easy.. Great in the box and as an outside blitzer.. Consistent tackler
Weaknesses: Deep coverage is a concern - he's not a rangy type safety like Reed, but he'll replace Pollard's in the box presence immediately as a rookie.
-
Now, as for day 2 predictions. It's ILB for sure.
Khaseem Greene is my favorite - love his game and the potential he brings - honestly, his college tape and Ray's college tape is eerily similar - both super productive - undersized, aggressive, active type leaders.
- If not Greene, WR Aaron Dobson, WR Quinton Patton, or ILB Kevin Minter are all possibilities as well.

Anyone think there is a chance Keenan Allen falls to us at 62? Scott has him going in round 3.

I'm pretty sure Ozzie said he wanted to trade up just to make sure they got Elam.

I was pretty much sure the pick was going to be Te'o. I'm doing the Ravens draft pick threads on another forum and had one all ready to go. Can't say I'm disappointed though. Safety was a bigger need than ILB and there's a lot of value left at that position.

Well we got our enforcer at safety, well done, im happy with the pick although I favored Cyprien & Arthur Brown.

I would still love to send our 2, 4 & 6 round pick to raiders (who still needs picks) to get arthur brown.
