If it plays like it seems to be heading, Josh Freeman would be the best QB to hit free agency in some time. Even if he just shows very little progression on last year, a bunch of teams would love to have him as a starter. He'd step into Cleveland or Arizona very nice I think, but it's also not likely they just let him walk without trying to trade him.

Not defending Hughes really but he's only 24. I think most people forget that and in a limited role he did finally show some life with 4.0 sacks.
Hughes has been a bust so far. I doubt he pans out in Buffalo

My favorite part? How much EFFORT it takes him to throw a pass. Seriously, it's like he is trying to throw a 50 pound javelin. Cracks me up.

It's actually a bit of a shame. Had Tebow been more accepting of it, he could have turned into a really nice H-Back type of option. He's actually a heck of an athlete (size/power/speed all considered) and a very decent runner. He averaged 5.4 yards and had 12 TDs in his two years with the Broncos.

But he definitely can't throw a football consistently on the NFL level.

It is kind of sad Tebow won't make the switch maybe if he has no back up job next season he'll learn who knows.

Go to Jacksonville. Put in a backfield of Tebow-Ace Sanders-Denard Robinson. Super bowl

Off topic, but I think Denard Robinson as a RB is one of the most interesting picks in the draft.

More on topic, the Lions GM is taking a "never say never" approach to signing Tebow. With a franchise QB in Stafford, a top-20 QB in Shaun Hill, and good old Kellen Moore holding it down on the third string, I don't know if they have room for Tebow at QB.

I remember Kellen Moore.

lets be realistic, what backup qb offers any Superbowl contending team the chance to win it all, if the starter goes down?

As a backup, and Tebow accepts his role as a backup, I wouldn't be against the Packers to bringing him in. Our season would be down the drain if we lose Rodgers, so might as well have some fun with it!

The backup QBs job isn't to win the Super Bowl if the starter goes down. It's to maybe win a few games if the starter goes down for a couple games mid-season.

And I'd be cool with Tebow being a Packer (he can't be worse than Graham Harrell) but last year Eliot Wolf basically tweeted that they weren't interested in him.

why does it matter to have a guy who can win a couple of games? you just admitted a backup qb cannot win a SB, so what does it lead to? A lower draft? wild card elimination? No, thank you.

It's either a Superbowl, or bust

If we lost Rodgers early in a season, I'd demand Tebow be brought in to ensure we get Clowney. I don't even care if he isn't an ideal fit. Any team with a good QB who goes down early would be stupid not to tank for him.

Not that I support paying for a backup QB, but the benefit of having a backup QB that can be the difference between 9-7 and 10-6 is pretty clear, as it relates to winning a Super Bowl.

Jeff Hostetler did it for the 1990 Giants. So it can work.

The idea is that if you go 9-7 instead of 7-9, you might make the playoffs and have a chance to make something happen. This is assuming that the starter will be back, and he only misses some games mid-season.

As a backup, and Tebow accepts his role as a backup, I wouldn't be against the Packers to bringing him in. Our season would be down the drain if we lose Rodgers, so might as well have some fun with it!

Edit: oh and this guy

Tebow would not be a good backup QB. Ideally, a backup is a talented young QB with starter potential.

because that happens EVERY season, or whenever a backup starts. Oh, them being HOFers has nothing to do with it.

Backup qbs are worthless. when have ACTUAL backup qbs come in and won meaningful games. They're backups because they cannot start in this league and win.
