Where's the Vidae KC love for Delaney?

Yeah, McNeil was great, but didn't he have those back problems entering the league?

Not sure if Nick Collins was mentioned but he'd be a top 3 safety in the league right now.

People fawn over Brady, but Bledsoe was already pretty good when he got injured, and if he had been the Pats QB instead of Brady, as that defense peaked and won some Super Bowls, New England's recent history would have much more of a Montana/Young vibe. It's all about the Super Bowl victories when it comes to calling QBs "great," so getting injured in his prime and then watching his team win it without him makes Bledsoe worth a mention.

I think Bryant Young could have been a first ballot HOFer if he hadn't broken his leg. He was still dominant after, but never quite the same. He did manage to end his career on a positive note by being one of the best 3-4 DEs in the league his last three seasons.

William Floyd deserves an honorable mention at least. Fullbacks don't get much attention, but he was a rare talent. Last FB to be drafted in the first round, I think.

I agree with this. The public perception would certainly be different if he hadn't been injured. He wasn't a great QB, but the same can be said for many QBs who achieved historical greatness.

Bryant Young should be in the HOF. I still think if he lives long enough there's no way Canton can keep him out forever, but it seems like he's one of those dominant players who was almost totally forgotten when he retired.

Very similar numbers to Warren Sapp. But it's Young's actual game that's HOF worthy not just his stats.

Has Bryant Young ever been a semi-finalist for the HOF??

THIS!! If he actually gave a shat about becoming a LB and not generate a sack every play he probably would have had a career.

Not career ending by any means but Kris Jenkins was down right nasty when he started with the Panthers. Fell apart in back to back seasons and was never the same after, ended up reviving his career as a space eater but lost the explosion that made him great.

Not fully derailed, but this guy never gets the respect he deserves. Maybe he'd have lot better stats wise if he could stay healthy for a full season.

He gets exactly the respect he deserves. He's absolutely not in the top QB group of Rodgers/Brady/Brees/Peyton, but everyone has him in the next group, which is where he should be. Usually right behind those four plus Eli.

it's not even fair how good he is at extending a play; consequently i think you have to accept that he's going to have a lot of injuries with that style.

Can you guys imagine what it would look like if Charles Woodson didn't have 5 of his prime athletic years sapped by toe and knee injuries?

What Rosebud said.

People really like his highlights, but Lavar was a detriment to his team regularly.

Sterling Sharpe is the one I think of for the Packers. Also Nick Collins.
I'll take another one from the 2004 NFL draft--KWII. He was a stud with all the physical tools but he started his career with bad leg injuries. First the broken leg his rookie year then then boneheaded motorcycle accident.

Even after that he put up a couple good seasons until the Cleveland staph bug got him good.

I don't know what his career would look like in the end considering what a bonehead he was, but the dude could play.

Bob Sanders.

This might be one of the most extreme cases. He never played a full season, only managed to play 10+ games twice and still won DPOY and contributed big-time to Super Bowl title run.

Brandon Graham.

This guy would have had a better three years than Jason Pierre Paul had he not suffered a torn ACL in his (good) rookie season.

He could still outplay Pierre Paul for the remainder of their careers when all is said and done

I don't know what his career would look like in the end considering what a bonehead he was, but the dude could play.
