Doesn't matter he's still the best pass rusher in the league.

I love Rex. He is a decent head coach. He needs a team that has more of a offense and QB set up and he would be great. I hope he gets fired and can go back to being the best DC in the league. As a head coach he doesn't get nearly enough focus on any one defensive aspect.

And 100 times better than Barwin!!!

When Rex is fired he'll get at least one more chance as a HC.

Who's running the football? Ivory? Powell? McKnight? Last year they averaged a horrible 3.8 ypc.

WR's, I wouldn't necessarily call those guys solid/good. Two guys coming off injured seasons, the great "potential" word, plus calling a guy solid after 1 season of average play.
Heck, Holmes has stated he doesn't know when he will play this year yet. Not to mention his full year playing in 2011, he had a whopping 51 catches for 600 yards and 8 TD's. Holmes is overrated, he had the 1 good year in Pittsburgh and then the great playoffs games including the game winner in the Super Bowl, but outside of that, has been average.
And then Edwards, who last played a full season in 2010 where he had 50 catches for 900 yards and 7 TD's.

Jets have some issues on offense. They sort of addressed the QB problem with Geno, but they have a mess at that position. RB is an unknown, WR and TE is an average unit.
Defensively, I could see the defense wearing down and ultimately looking far worse than it is due to the offense not giving them much help.

Not to mention they have a pretty bad o-line besides Mangold and Ferguson. I think they tried to address the RB issues w/ Goodson but he had other plans and got arrested. I just don't think they are a very good football team. They lost some players on defense as well. They will probably be a .500 team at best. Neither of those QBs they have is franchise material. If they had some better weapons and played in more of a spread offense Smith might do some damage but they have had terrible playcalling, do not have the personnel to run the spread and are a run heavy team.

Miami has greatly improved and New England is going to win 10 games this season. The Jets will be vying with the Bills for the cellar in the AFC East.

I think Ivory is a pretty good RB who just didn't get enough carries in NO bc he didn't fit their spread offense. I think he improves their run game. And I think a lot of the woes offensively are on the quarterback. Sanchez was just awful. That OL isn't nearly as bad as Sanchez made it look. Those WRs got open. If you have the all 22 access on nfl.com you'll see guys were open. Sanchez just didn't get them the ball.

It's really gonna come down to Geno Smith. If Geno shows promise, this offense will be a lot better than last year. If he doesn't, then they'll suck.

I'm banking on Geno being an upgrade over Sanchez, Ivory providing them with some production in the run game, and the defense being very good this year.

When you can play D and run the ball you have a chance. I expect the Jets to do both this year. I can see 8-8 for them.

Ivory can't seem to get past his hamstring injury. Not jumping to conclusions, but nothing is more annoying than a hamstring that just won't cooperate.

Good move by the Broncos to get Lilja out of retirement. He is probably the best replacement they can get at this point and his is at least familiar with Manning.

I still think Philip Blake is more than capable, but picking up a Manning-led offense isn't exactly the easiest thing to pick on so the move makes sense from that aspect.

This really isn't a good scenario for the Broncos that is playing out right now. We've got a 37 year old QB behind an O-Line that's having some problems inside with injuries.

Lilja is an average center who is smart, but he's never played Center with Peyton. In addition, he is coming off two surgeries this offseason. Walton may be able to come back mid-way through the season and would likely be a huge deal for them.

Hopefully this doesn't turn into a bigger deal than it looks like now. Being a Titans fan, I think we saw pretty close to worst case scenario last season in that department

Awesome move if he can stay healthy himself.

I'm not sure the learning curve is necessarily that steep. As Chris Brown says on Smart Football here:

Quote:
The Colts’ offense was, structurally at least, among the simplest in the league for the entire time Manning was there. They used only a handful of formations — and almost always lined up Marvin Harrison (and later Pierre Garçon) split wide to the right and Reggie Wayne split wide to the left — ten or so core pass plays and just a couple of core runs. I know that sounds a little silly, especially since we’re constantly told that NFL playbooks are incredibly dense and huge and so on, but the Colts killed people with like fifteen, maybe twenty plays, and they did it for a decade.

Laurent Robinson, Austin Collie, and Lavelle Hawkins just tried out for the 49ers. I was hoping we were going to bring in Steve Breaston.

I think its just Manning being able to quickly read a defense and change any play or individual routes. If you are on time where he says to be you will be open and get the ball. HIm and Harrison were just deadly. They just looked at each other to change routes.

Austin Collie signs with the 49ers. They plan to sign Lavelle Hawkins too.

I am surprised Collie could pass a physical. If I was him I would have just retired at this point. I would like to be able to walk when I am older.

Early Doucet signs with Seattle. I wanted them to sign him as a free agent a while ago. Makes the training camp battles a bit more interesting, that's for sure. There's 4 or 5 guys competing pretty closely for 2 or 3 spots.

I'm pretty sure I'm gonna get sick to my stomach if Collie gets drilled and ends up in a weird position laying on the ground. I know he is a good slot guy that can play, but the concussion history is scary.
