With how good of an OL prospect he was out of HS I am actually shocked Morgan Moses made it to his senior year. Mad respect for that!

We're now up to six confirmed invites with T.C.U. CB Jason Verrett being the latest addition.

The Senior Bowl announced Michigan St. CB Darqueze Dennard has accepted an invitation.

Still an underrated prospect. Definite Top 100 and perhaps even an outside shot at Round 1.

With Michigan State's success defensively, I think Dennard will get a ton of consideration for the late 1st...as he should. He has a size advantage over the other top guys (ekpre-olomu, verrett, roby). He has the consistent performance over the last 2 years. He has a chance to cement 1st round status with a big championship game vs. Ohio St next month, a bowl game, and the postseason game and workouts.

How likely do you think it is that Taylor Lewan and/or Jake Matthews go to the Senior Bowl? I'd love to see them there just so see how D-line prospects fare against them.

I would say it's pretty unlikely we see guys like Matthews, Lewan and Barr there.

They already risked injury by going back for their senior seasons, not to mention a big payday, so I doubt they would want to tempt fate at this point. I would say those are the only three seniors with more to lose than gain by playing in the Senior Bowl though.

Not sure but it's encouraging to see the tackles do it last year. I know they probably had more to prove but still. I like seeing guys compete.

Even after Eric Fisher used it as a springboard to become the #1 overall pick?

I don't even remember Fisher being a top 10 guy at that point. I think he was in the first round discussion though. Matthews and Barr look like top 5 guys and Lewan top 10. (though I'm a bit shaky on him)

Fisher's situation was much different from that of Matthews and Lewan.

The last mock I did before heading to the Senior Bowl last year I had Fisher at #11 overall and took a lot of flack for having him too high. They were obviously singing a different tune after that week in Mobile but it's not like Fisher was a sure-fire Top 10 guy beforehand.

Even if the top tackle don't go, I'll sure be hoping we get to see guys like Cyril Richardson and Gabe Jackson. The Seahawks are dying for a mauler.

Matthews has been going against SEC defensive ends for 2 years. He has nothing left to prove.

Lewan is crap this year, he should go to the senior bowl.

I agree, Lewan could prove something at the Senior Bowl. Especially about his personality and character, which some people have questioned during Michigan's disappointing season. People also aren't as big on Lewan as they were at the end of last season, so he could use that week of practice to try and prove he's just as good.

I think it's highly likely we will see Archer in Mobile but Nix is a long shot.

What about Nikita Whitlock?

Nix, an undersized but disruptive player at the non-AQ level, seems like he is perfectly suited to be invited to a game like this for NFL Scouts to actually look at versus good competition.

For what it's worth, here is my prediction for the six Senior Bowl quarterbacks:

1) A.J. McCarron, Alabama
2) Zach Mettenberger, L.S.U.
3) Tajh Boyd, Clemson
4) Derek Carr, Fresno St.
5) Aaron Murray, Georgia
6) Logan Thomas, Virginia Tech OR Jimmy Garoppolo, Eastern Illinois

That leaves guys like Stephen Morris, David Fales, Jeff Mathews and Tom Savage for East / West Shrine and NFLPA. Such a deep crop! Some have speculated that they may use some of this year's extra roster spots to invite a couple more signal callers but I doubt it. After all, there are barely enough practice and game reps to go around with six.

So the South Team would have four QBs and the North Team would have two quarterbacks?

They aren't necessarily beholden to geographical lines. Just want the best players.

Wouldnt be surprised to see Mettenberger and Carr skip since they are potential first rounders.
