Shawn Watson, our offensive coordinator, also isn't doing Bridgewater any favors with his playcalling. His numbers are already off the charts, even with ridiculously conservative playcalling. 3300 yards, 71% completion percentage, 25 td's to 3 ints. Like I said in earlier posts, he just doesn't make mental mistakes. He is incredibly consistent. His competition this year, for lack of a better word, has been complete manure, but even if you put him in the SEC or big ten, I dont think his numbers suffer that much. When he has played against really good defenses, he has done well.

I just dont see the comparison with Carr. When Carr came to Carolina I saw an athlete trying to be a QB.

We assume Barkley would have been a high pick after his junior year, and whereas his senior year did NOTHING to help him, the same scouts and coaches would have found the same flaws and he would have plummeted in the Draft (like Jimmy Clausen).

As for Murray he wasn't going to get any bigger so he needed another year to prove himself. Last year he'd have been a 5th-6th round pick even if projected higher when he declared.

I think Bortles may go pro - he is really intriguing and has really helped his stock this season - he should be a first round pick - maybe even top 10.

Petty needs another year IMO, he only has one season as starter and doesn't throw the ball alot in that offense.

Bridgewater at times looks too laid back - strikes me that the best QB's aren't like that. Just might be the kind of player that when it all works you say how cool he is - but when it doesn't then he's not giving it everything.

Having said that, he's further along in terms of being a guy who can get through his progressions (either in the pocket or extending a play) than Mariota who is a 1 or 2 read and run guy at the moment.
Fair enough, just glad that made sense to someone.

Derek Carr and David Fales putting on a show so on CBS Sports network.

967 total yards. Each QB has 6 TD passes. Combined 49-61, 805 yards, 12 TDs. Did I mention it was HALFTIME!

It's been a clinic. Carr obviously has the better arm but both quarterbacks have shown that they're gonna last in the NFL simply by how cerebral they are as signal callers.

Really impressed by Fales (for the first time really). The last TD he threw was brilliant. Like a pitcher paintinh the outside corner at the knees.

If it's a serious knee injury, that would probably lead to him going in the second or third round.

Yea Fales is pretty impressive with his accuracy. Really reminds of Chad Pennington as a prospect. His ball placement on some of his throws is just great to see. He ended the season on a strong note - might be a 3-4th round guy.

Carr gets away with a lot of throws because he has an excellent arm. He also has some stud WRs. Davonte Adams is a man amongst boys in the MW. Carr knows what he has so he isnt afraid to throw the ball up. Fales picked apart Fresnos defense. He spreads the ball around and threw to the right guy on almost every single throw. SJSU lost a lot of key skill position players this year. They had 4 freshman starting in the skill positions. Fales made them play like seniors. I think once teams workout Fales and sit down and talk with him his stock will rise. His accuracy is very impressive. He isnt the greatest athlete but he has great pocket presence and keeps plays alive. I see him going in round 3-4 as well. He has been getting the Chad Pennington comparison since high school. I think his arm is a bit stronger then Pennington especially on those intermediate routes. But he is extremely smart goes through his progressions and is very accurate. He will need to go to the right system to ever have a shot in the NFL. I could see KC being a good fit with Andy Reid.

Mariota announced he's going to stay, so we can remove his name from 2014 draft talk. Good move IMO, should be a favorite to go top 3 next season.

Adams should be in consideration for top WR in the draft imo

I know this is a thread about QB's but dude. Really? He's good and all, but I don't think he's in the top 5 WR's on the west coast (Lee/Richardson/Cooks/K. Williams/Montgomery) He has a good argument for the 5th best, but that's only considering Pac-12 draft eligible players.
