So, does anyone here want Jon Gruden coaching their team?

Also, should he actually hit free agency, what teams are legitimate contenders to be able to afford Jay Cutler?

If some team is dumb enough to pay Cutler top tier money, go right ahead.

With some of the coaching in the NFL right now Gruden would be an upgrade. I would take him if my team needed a coach. He fits a veteran team a lot better than a rebuilding one. I could see him come in for the Texans, find a vet QB, and have some pretty good success.

That being said he will never leave the booth. It is just way too good of a gig. He still does tape study and gets to live football, but he doesn't have the pressure and work schedule anymore. The money is real good too.

I would like to hire the ESPN Squad -- Jon Gruden as either head coach or OC, and either Ron Jaworski or Trent Dilfer as QB coach. But as niel89 says, TV jobs are too cushy to leave. That's why people are still waiting for Bill Cowher to leave CBS and coach again. Considering that Jimmy Johnson is still with FOX and obviously will never return to the sidelines, that tells you that Cowher and Gruden are staying on television too.

Alright, well that that sounds safe. Bunch of fans getting drunk inside their cars in a stadium parking lot.

Edit: I just read the rest of the article, jesus the security for this is more than for a presidential inauguration. I don't know why anyone would want to go through the hassle of doing that. Two security checkpoints, you can't be dropped off and walk to the stadium. No tailgating.

The superbowl is getting less and less about the fans.

Can someone with knowledge of the situation explain what caused the lights to finally turn on for Marshawn Lynch? I am hoping something similar happens for Trent Richardson, but also hoping it doesn't take 5 years like it did for Lynch.

Depends on the venue, and what designates "stadium" parking. RJS in Tampa can always get some great tailgaiting in because of what constitutes stadium parking, and open spaces that do no belong to the stadium. Most other venues in the US can't. RJS can.

The Week 16 SNF game has changed from New England at Baltimore to Chicago at Philadelphia. If you're wondering why a game between the Patriots and a playoff contender would be replaced, look at the city populations. Chicago and Philly are big. Boston is mid-sized, and Baltimore is smallish. It's about ratings, not fairness.

for a DE, i'd probably start at like 75-80 career. for a DT 1/2 that.

Break like 130/50 sacks and I'd probably be comfortable sending them in.

That being said, would that mean Robert Mathis is a HOF candidate?

Well look at the guys he's around.
Heck the #3 Sack guy in Kevin Greene isn't in the HOF with 160.
Leslie O'Neal has 132 and tied for 10th, isn't in.
Simeon Rice has 122, not really mentioned at all.
John Abraham is actually 9th with 133, but I don't see much mention of him as a definite HOF candidate.

I feel vindicated. If I'm the only one that gets blocked by a troll, I'm the only one that successfully made him mad enough to stop trying to troll me.

I realize I'm probably giving him too much credit, but after the game McCown had last night, I want to see him play on the national stage again. And given the season Foles is having, I'd like to see that too. I'd much rather see those two teams then watch Patriots' WR's drop passes like Brian Schottenheimer taught them to catch. And again, I mean that last part as a joke.

Unfortunately this is not so correct. And if you look at each teams metro area, Chicago is three, Boston is six, Philly is seventh. The wildcard is Baltimore. It is 22 on its own but DC is fourth. DC skews Redskins, but the Ravens are not outnumbered.

People aren't really talking about Philip Rivers' season enough. He's been lights out all season long for what was considered one of the weakest rosters in the NFL. He was disrespected so much prior to the season, I think Jaws had him 18th in his QB rankings which now looks like a joke. Give the man his credit people! He's in his renaissance period right now.
