If Lions miss playoffs, Schwartz should be on the hot seat.

Yeah I'd have to think if the Lions miss the playoffs Schwartz is gone without a doubt.

Ravens fans, or anyone who knows a little about him. Whats the story with Todd Washington the OL coach?

He is supposedly joining Sarkisian on the USC staff. I have heard good things.

Especially since this division has been handed to them with Rodgers out. If they blow the lead then he's gone.

There are reports that Dennis Allen is on the hot seat somehow.

That doesn't seem fair. That roster is the pits. They have four wins. That's two more than I expected from them.

Eh, he's 8-22. You shouldn't hang onto a coach just because, "he could be worse". Allen hasn't been terrible, but I don't think the Raiders would miss him if they let him go. If they think they can find better, why shouldn't they?

It's pretty bogus to fire a guy "just because," though. If they fire him, it'd be like they never intended to give him a chance; like he was just a cheap body willing to put up with Oakland until they got all of the massive cap hits cleared. He's never been given anything worthwhile. That roster has the talent level of an expansion team!

Poor sumbitch never had a chance.

Hey man, that's the NFL for you. It's a tough business.

If there's someone available better than you, you're going to get replaced. Allen was kind of lucky to even get the job in the first place. He was only a DC for one year, and was even just a position coach for 3. The Raiders took a chance on him thinking he might be the next hot young coach. In two years he hasn't done enough to prove that. If they think they can do better, they absolutely should move on.

Blaine Gabbert was the starter for two years in Jacksonville. The Jaguars realized he wasn't the guy who would take them to the Super Bowl, so they moved on. They shouldn't stick with a QB who'll likely never be anything special just "to give him a fair chance". And there's no reason to give a coach that either. The sooner you realize your mistakes and the sooner you cut your losses, the sooner you can improve.

If they don't think Allen is a great coach and is part of their long term plans, it's best to let him go now. Why waste another season to let him go 6-10 next year, and then fire him? In a way, yeah it's pretty ****** to Allen, but the rest of the organization's primary concern is what's best for the Raiders.

But you can't get any sort of an idea how the guy can coach with this roster. Allen deserves talent and at least 2 more years.

He didn't start his first two years in a rebuilding franchise. He started in a franchise as they threw gasoline on a house and dropped a zippo. The Raiders roster is more like a steaming pile of dog crap than an NFL team.

They've started Matt McGloin for 5 games for goodness sakes.

I for one think Allen has the Raiders playing hard. Give him some players to work with and I think they could go places. Replacing Allen already seems very Al Davis-ish to me.

Since Dennis Allen took over as Head Coach, Raiders have already had 2 OCs, 2 O-Line coaches and 4 different starting QBs. I understand the cap issues but he can't let these things happen. Raiders don't seem to have an identity, Raiders are going to have a fresh start this off-season with $60+ million in cap space and what appears to be a top 3 draft pick. No matter what anyone says about the Raiders... This is now looking like an attractive job. Believe me, Mark Davis will have a lot of interested coaches if he has an opening.

He hasn't brought in a "franchise" quarterback yet and the selection of Hayden was puzzling but he wasn't the only one who was high on the corner. He hasn't even been on the job a full two years so assessing the wins and losses of the franchise is a poor way of evaluating McKenzie's tenure. The franchise seems to be trending in the correct direction and stability is something the franchise hasn't has over time but needs to be successful long term.

Yeah I understand that he had minimal assets and needed to cut salary.

Big deal. Anyone can cut contracts and let existing contracts expire. That doesn't require talent. You just have to do nothing, which anyone can do. What has he done with the few moves he's made? Most of them have been horrible.

Let's summarize a couple of gems:

1. With minimal draft picks, he decides to trade one of them for Matt Flynn, sign him to a reasonably priced contract, only to cut him before the season even started.

2. He drafts a qb in round 4 when again, he has no assets, only to cut him before the start of his rookie season.

So to summarize, he spent 2 draft picks and some money on the qb position on guys who didn't even make the team. Didn't even make the team.

3. He moves out of his draft position, takes less value on the trade just to trade out, then drafts a guy who just had open heart surgery. Said CB is on IR. Oh and he didn't look great when he was playing either.

4. He signed Mike Jenkins.

I can go on and on. He sucks. He's not a good GM. But let's keep giving him a pass bc of this myth that Oakland is a hard place to GM or coach bc Al Davis' corpse is still controlling them or something.

McKenzie found a gem in WR, Rod Streater who is closing in on 1,000 yards. TE, Mychal Rivera has star potential and 3rd pick OLB Sio Moore has flashed signs of greatness. I think DJ Hayden has the skill set to be great, he just has to put in the work, CB is probably the 2nd hardest position to play in the NFL. How often do we see good cover corners as rookies? Reggie also picked up some solid free agents like WR, Andre Holmes and MLB, Nick Roach who both will be in Oakland for awhile. The best thing Reggie did was gutting the roster. Heading into 2014 with $60+ million in cap space is nice. Reggie blew it on Flynn and Wilson but at the same time he cost his team a 4th and 5th round pick, some people act like he threw two 1st rounders in the trash for those guys.

Reggie has taken some risks, made mistakes, found some gems... Year 3 will tell us a lot more.

So the summarize:

Wasted two mid/late round draft picks. 1st round draft pick gets injured. Signed a bad player to a cheap, one year contract.

Omgzzzzzz worst GM ever!

I guess Jerry Reese sucks because David Wilson keeps on fumbling and they signed Will Beatty to a big contract?

Bbd just hates McKenz for some odd reason so anything he does is a bad move.

Allen definitely deserves more time

Those are all minor mistakes. They really liked a player and drafted in him in the first. I'm not going to kill a GM because a draft pick immediately doesn't light it up. He is just tearing down the old junk before he can really rebuild. I'm going to let him actually screw up before I jump all over him

I wouldn't be surprised to see Tim Walton get canned as the Rams DC. He's just not producing at all with a lot of talent. Rumors have it that Fisher has Rams the D the last game and a half.

Also, Brian Shotty could be scooted out.

IF Schwartz is fired, don't be surprised to see him end up as the Rams DC.

Wake me up when McKenzie brings the team to .500 level. We've seen no progress in 2 years, not even a sign of potential progress yet he gets a pass for some reason.

Bc he like...did nothing aka cut players which any GM in the league can do or something.

That's his claim to fame right now. He created cap space. Wowzers. GM of the year.

Let's see what he does with it. And maybe this year he won't totally screw up his 1st round draft pick.

I'm calling it now, when the Raiders go 6-10 next year, everyone is gonna blame Dennis Allen and no one will mention what a terrible job McKenzie has done in 3 years as GM, even though he's the root of the problem.

Yeah, Tim Walton is all but toast at this point in time. The defense has really regressed and his play calling is a big reason for that, imo.

Don't see Schotty going anywhere. Highly doubt anyone is going to give him a HC gig and he does enough of a job that Fish isn't going to make a change just for the sake of making a change. He is back in '14.

Would love to see Schwartz as the new Rams DC. It'll be a gas to say, "May the Schwartz be with you!!"

Seriously though, he would bring an aggressiveness that has always characterized Jeff Fisher defenses and has been sorely missing this year.

WHAT SAY YE?
