So....yeah. Look at that list above with a straight face and begin to tell me you can even remotely make a comparison.
And if teams weren't getting their asses handed to them it would be one thing, but by and large the B1G teams aren't even competitive in most of those games.

The ACC consistently gets their asses handed to them by the SEC as well (not to mention the Big East) so I'm not sure what your point is.

You couldn't understand the pairing math, so I won't waste my time walking through the relative pairing seedings.

So after the ACC deal, are we done with major moves being made for awhile? I can still see the Big 12 and ACC picking up schools to get to better numbers, but it appears Big 10 and SEC don't really have any targets left after taking the Big 12 and ACC teams out of play. Hurts the Big 12s chances of landing the quality programs people were talking about them poaching from the ACC. Will they settle for lower schools to get back to 12 sooner?

People I talk to in Conn are holding out hope that this move could mean a Big Ten invite, but that's just not gonna happen. They should just enjoy their Michigan, Maryland, and Rutgers games this season an pretend they made the move.

Looks like the ACC and B1G will now have 2 bowl games against each other, with a possibility of 3 with the deal with the Orange Bowl possibly taking a B1G #2 team.

I wish we could go back to before Miami ignited the conference realignment.

I'm happy with that realignment. But I was not a fan of the latest round. Had there been a way for all the big six conferences to get to 12 that would have been great. Maybe Utah and TCU to Pac-12, Rutgers to BIG, and UCF, Temple, Memphis, and two other teams to the Big East would have been preferable.

I liked some of the moves and didn't like others.

-I like Utah and Colorado in the Pac12 and TCU in the Big 12.

-Missouri in the SEC feels wrong. They have no natural rival and should be playing Kansas every year.

-A&M should equally be playing Texas every year, but I don't mind this move as much because rivalries with LSU and Bama will be fun.

-Nebraska in the B1G has worked out ok for the most part. Their non-football sports are much better off, but they have no natural rival outside of potentially Iowa, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. Still probably time to move on, though.

-West Virginia in the Big 12 is just silly no matter how you look at it.

-Rutgers, Pitt, Syracuse, and Maryland are all whatever. I don't dislike the moves, and they're certainly better for not being in the Big East, but these moves weren't about creating good matchups. I'm sad to see Louisville and Syracuse no longer playing BBall in the Big East, however.

I don't like Rutgers and Maryland adds at all. They don't bring anything to the conference, except money of course. But the Big Ten making more money doesn't do anything for me, where as adding some good football or basketball programs would.

The Nebraska move I liked a lot.

Maryland's Attorney General is filing suit against the ACC. **** just got real.

Quote:
The Maryland Attorney General's Office also alleges that after Maryland announced its planned move, representatives of Wake Forest and the University of Pittsburgh "each contacted a Big Ten university in an attempt by the ACC to recruit at least two Big Ten schools to leave the Big Ten and join the ACC."

These actions, according to Maryland, are among a series of moves by the ACC that constitute "illegal, retaliatory, and anti-competitive conduct (that) threatens irreparable harm to Maryland and Maryland's student-athletes, student and alumni fan base, faculty, athletic competitiveness and reputation."

The Maryland AG also is seeking punitive damages against the ACC in an amount to be specified at trial.

Cool, so they contacted PSU I'm sure and PSU would be moronic to ever move. Otherwise, who would they have tried? The smaller schools like Iowa, Purdue, and jNW? Yea right, like they would have left for the ACC. lulz

Either Maryland is making things up or Wake/Pitt/the ACC are idiots.

Maryland is going to get destroyed by the ACC in court over this.

Only chance is for the Big 12 to expand and want to add TV markets. Personally if I was the Big 12, I'd make a run at UNLV and Central Florida.

UCF and USF as a package deal. That gets them the 13th and 19th media markets. Vegas isn't too appealing at 42.

There have been some reports (not sure how credible) that within the next month or two, the Big XII will begin another round of expansion. They don't like West Virginia being so isolated so they are looking East. UCF and Cincinnati are two of the targets. Word is they don't particularly want USF but they might begrudgingly invite them so UCF isn't left on an island. The 4th team will likely also come from the AAC (ECU is the only Eastern team worth a dang unless they go after Temple to get another big market).

Nah can't be Temple. I feel we would just get an ass whopping every game.

Don't they need to be AAU schools?

With the Big XII, it's expand or die. However, they may die anyways due to the fact that Texas will probably leave for the Pac-12 in the next 10-15 years. The Big XII should try to add Florida State.

As a UNLV fan, the Big XII would be good, but only for a short time. I believe that it is only a matter of time before the Big XII dissolves. Their geographic blueprint sucks, and their conference hinges on Texas and Oklahoma.

Speaking of expansion, the Mountain West and American need to find teams to add to their leagues to firmly position themselves as the best of the non-power five conferences.

You know, if the playoff settle into 1 team from 4 different conferences, you could see teams begin to jump ship as they realize that you are far better off in a smaller conference if you want to compete for a National Championship.

Because the conferences are so large now, there will be tremendous pressure to go to an 8 team playoff, where all major conference champions are invited plus 2 or 3 at large entries.

Don't they need to be AAU schools?
No, the Big Ten only takes AAU schools. The Big XII doesn't care that much about academics (see West Virginia).

Nebraska is now not an AAU school (they were when they were admitted).
