Would you take David Yankey at #5? Pull a DJ Hayden and trade down to #10-ish and take him?

I think both #5 and #10 are too high for Yankey. I'd much rather take Watkins.

Finding someone to generate pressure from the base front is a must too. D got picked apart when teams figured out that the cupboard was bare in that department. Hardy will likely demand a lot, he rejected 4yr/$32m from the Panthers earlier in the year. Bennet, Johnson maybe in FA.

Reggie would have some big balls to take a guard in the 1st w all the holes we have on this team.. im sure Yankey will be solid but did u evr sit there after a loss this year and say to yrself "u knw what, we were a guard away from beating tht team"...

this team needs play makers.. not to minimize the impact a guy like Yankey can have, but i dont think adding him does eough to build this offense into a strength.. itd be smarter to trade down thn take a guard

So far in the forum mock draft on here I have added Blake Bortles and Kony Ealy through the draft and signed Greg Hardy and BJ Raji as free agents. Veldheer and Houston have been resigned, along with Jennings, Jenkins, Woodson and Walker.

What are the chances we trade up with the Rams to land a top QB?

Looking at what Washington gave up to make a similar move for RGIII, zero. No way Reggie gives away that many picks. Especially if Bridgewater goes #1.

1 Blake Bortles QB UCF*
2 Trent Murphy DE Stanford
3 Donte Moncrief WR Ole Miss*

That would be my perfect draft as of now

1 Teddy Bridgewater
2 Scott Crichton
3 Cyril Richardson

Id pass on every QB besides Bridgewater. I feel like the networks & sports media love to hype up guys like Bortles/ Manziel/ Carr because it makes the draft easier to sell, even tho every scout will tell you Teddy is lightyears ahead in his ability to direct and excel in a pro offense.

Teddy is good enough to beat out McGloin & Pryor by week 1. Drafting a QB that isnt will be a waste of time.. time that management cannot afford to lose. & bc I doubt he'd be there at 5, I wouldnt be totally against trading up to 2 for the right price. I really dont see anyway he makes it past JAC or CLE

Um...hell no on Bortles. We need an instant impact player with our 1st round pick, not some raw prospect that will need AT LEAST 3 years of grooming before he MIGHT be a viable option as a starting QB.

The only QB's I'd want are Bridgewater in the 1st or Garoppolo in the 2nd.

Bortles doesn't need three years of grooming, that's completely silly. Big Ben showed he was up to the task as a rookie underclassman, Bortles will as well.

LEGIT x 100

It's going to be QB provided Bridgewater or Bortles is available.

The other option? Trade down for Donald and look for Garrapolo in the 2nd.

Honestly I'd be happy with any of the 3 QB's. Looks like I'm agreeing with the mainstream on this one but I'd like to see Manziel come to Oakland. The kid is a playmaker, plain and simple (although NFL defenses could change that) but I like his swag. Bridgewater is probably the safer pick but I would rather go with the sacrifice of the potential of Manziel. Here is my order of what my Raider board would be. And don't get me wrong RaiderNation I love Bortles too! Lol I love the top 3 QB's. As for Carr, get him out of Cali...

1. Johnny Manziel, QB
2. Teddy Bridgewater, QB
3. JaDaveon Clowney, DE
4. Blake Bortles, QB
5a. Sammy Watkins, WR
5b. Khalil Mack, OLB
(I believe 5a and 5b are safe picks)

I hope Reggie takes a beating if Veldheer and Houston walk..those guys have been our most promising players for the past two years and if they arent rewarded for doing the all the right things then what message are u sending to the rest of the roster?

Ill admit 99 isnt a double digit sack guy but thats playing the blindside opposite jason hunter and scrub 1/ scrub 2 inside. if hes put back into his natural position inside he will be a pro bowler because the guy is just about to enter his prime

and why let these guys walk if youre just gonna have to draft the position to replace them? this regime needs 8-10 wins to see another year & those wont come if youre gonna let the foundation of both lines walk.. while sitting on $60 MILLION?! smh

*releases panic button*

If McKenzie lets JV walk and then drafts OT at #5 it will most likely cost him his job.

I completely agree but I think he's trying to call their bluff. I would hate to see Veldheer go but if he does I would hope they would pick up another OT via Free Agency. I would like to see both Veldheer and Houston re-signed.

I think Veldheer is a must to re-sign. I'd like Houston back as well, but if he's asking for top dollars I can see us letting him walk.
