Louis Nix to the Saints makes absolutely zero sense. CB or WR. Beckham here!

It's definitely making the point that his word should be taken with a grain of salt. He was so flat-out wrong about Luck/RG3 that I do question his ability to evaluate the position on a critical level.

Quote:
Greg Cosell of NFL Films has certainly been impressed with RG3, so much so, that after evaluating five games of film of both RG3 and Luck, he says that Griffin III is a "superior arm talent and natural passer."
Granted, it's only five games of film, all from this past season, on both Griffin and Luck, but Cosell does have plenty of interesting notes.

Luck was not a special passer based on film study. He is not the same kind of arm talent as Matthew Stafford or Cam Newton.
By contrast, Cosell was quite impressed with RG'3 s arm strength.

Griffin, for a power thrower, was consistently accurate. The better term for accuracy is ball location. That's what allows receivers to run after the catch. Griffin excelled in that area, and just as important, he threw with touch on the shorter crossing routes
Pocket presence is another area that Cosell believes RG3 excels in, even when directly compared to Luck.

He [RG3] did not move when the bodies started closing it down. He threw effectively out of what we call a "muddied" pocket". He did not need much functional space to deliver the ball with velocity and distance. Surprisingly, in my 5 game breakdown of Luck, he exhibited a tendency to move too quickly, to leave the pocket too early.

In no shape form or fashion did he say RG3 was a better qb.

He did say that he had more talent and a better natural passer but none of those indicated that he is the better qb.

No wonder you are high on Manziel, your clueless

Well he never said Rg3 is a better qb, and yes RG3 has more arm talent than Luck

Luck just has a once in a generation brain to use his

Nope. Unless issues with mechanics that cause inaccuracy (particularly sailing passes) don't count. Even then, his assessment on Luck's arm is way off. Luck has a BIG arm.

No he wasn't. RG3 clearly had the better arm going into draft.
(Luck had a fine arm himself, and he is actually throwing the ball better today, two years later. Mainly because he cleaned up some of those mechanical errors that Cosell did indeed point out.)

At no point does Cosell claim that RG3 is a better QB prospect than Luck. He is merely pointing out, that even though Luck was the consensus #1 pick at the time, there where things that RG3 actually did better than him as a QB. (And he was right about those two things.)

Taking a Cosell quote out of context, and try to use it to discredit his abilities as a talent evaluator, just because he doesn't like your particular prospect crush, is nothing short of laughable imo.

I believe he preferred RG3 and was hedging his bet. And how did I take the quote out of context? And again, his comments about RG3 throwing well from a muddled pocket are COMPLETELY inaccurate. Of the top QB's that year, RG3 was among the worst when pressured. I don't have anything against the guy. I just don't take his word as gospel.

Props to Mayock for being a Jarvis Landry fan and for comparing him to Hines Ward.

That is a horrible horrible horrible pick for Miami.

Much bigger issues that RB. Eric Ebron, CJ Moseley, Antonio Richardson should all be taken before Hill.
