They have 30M in cap space right now, which I'd guess will go down to about 10M once W and W are signed. They can then save 5.5 by cutting Bane and 7.5 by cutting an old Lynch. The only real question mark is if Maxwell gets a huge offer from someone else (which is possible). They might lose him, but if they reallly want to keep him, they can make it work (although that would cost them Irvin or Wright down the road probably). I'm assuming Avril is gone and they draft a DE this year or Irvin moves back there for 2015 season.

The purge people are waiting for just isn't going to happen. It already did by losing Bryant, Clemons, Browner, and Thurmond.

Next offseason they MIGHT lose Maxwell.

The following offseason they MIGHT lose Wright, Irvin, and/or Okung.

They'd probably be able to keep two of those players. They just managed the cap brilliantly.

They obviously have to draft well to keep replenishing. They can't make James Carpenter and Chris Harper picks and continue to be the best team in the league.

But there isn't some horrible purge that is going to kill them.

The sad reality for the rest of the NFL is that for the next four years these guys are locks to be on the Seahawks:

Russell Wilson
Earl Thomas
Kam Chancellor
Richard Sherman
Percy Harvin
Michael Bennett
Max Unger
Bobby Wagner

They'd have to mess up pretty bad in the draft and FA and almost try to regress so badly in player development (think Baldwin) to not be a contender with that core, assuming they stay healthy.

This is an important draft though. They have to find a starter or two this year.
Yeah, I looked into it, right now they have $109.2 million locked up for 2015, and if the estimates of $140 million are correct, that's $30 million available. It's a pretty good chunk of cap space, but there are a lot of guys that will have to be signed...

DE Cliff Avril
WR Doug Baldwin
LB Malcolm Smith
LB K.J. Wright

...and either extend or be prepared to lose:

QB Russell Wilson
LB Bobby Wagner
LB Bruce Irvin
RB Marshawn Lynch
DT Brandon Mebane
OT Russell Okung

So yeah, the Seahawks are in pretty good shape, but I think by 2016 they'll be in cap trouble. Salvation would be to have the cap room keep exploding for the next three or four years, which could very well be the case.

Thinking about the draft...Amobi Okoye is 26 years old. He's been out of the league since 2012.

Sure, looks like cap hell to me. It is looking like the Rams will be dominating the Division for awhile with perhaps San Fran battling them once Smith returns.

I was thrilled when the Falcons had their choice of Amobi Okoye and Jamaal Anderson...

A big part of that is if Bradford can step up and play excellent. All 4 NFCW teams have fantastic defenses but they need an offense to step up.

Seems like we've been saying this every year.

Well to be fair, he doesn't have 5 HOF linemen and 5 HOF guys at the skill positions, once he gets that, then we can judge him accurately.

Replacing Stevie Johnson allows Robert Woods to go to the slot in the 3-WR all day offense they run, which might make him even better. Add Sammy Watkins and former Buccaneer Mike Williams on the outside, and that makes a strong group.

Agreed on everything. And good for him going to the 49ers. He deserves to be on a winning team. It'll be interesting to see if we can put his money to good use if we see some vets get cut before roster bonuses kick in.

This should answer your question.

But seriously, #79/81 among guards on PFF this year, #78/78 in 2011 (did not play enough snaps to qualify in 2012.)

Bengals cut Josh Johnson. McCarron is already going to make the team if they keep 3 QBs.

Yea, Rackley was REALLLY bad. I liked him a lot, largely because he went to Lehigh, so I was sad to see him do so poorly in the NFL. IIRC, he only played the last two years because of injuries.

If anything helps sell tickets it will be the chance of McCarron starting because quiet a few Bengal fans are wishing that happens this year. I don't see it happen unless a injury.

Well it looks like some things never change. The only thing that can hold Greg Hardy back continues to be Greg Hardy. Don't know all the details, but it looks like he may be in some doo doo.
