Hah, I'm not all that familiar with his story or anything. A friend of mine had me listen to some of his songs, told me a bit about him, and showed me a picture. But I enjoyed it as much as I ever have that type of music(not sure of the exact genre.... Reggae maybe?).

Anyone have love for "The Roots" in here...they are honestly one of the most unique bands I've ever heard in my life. They are hip hop/rap, but they are a band, which reminds you of Earth Wind and Fire and other 70's bands like that.
I recommend the following by them:
Heart of the City ft. Jay-Z
The Seed 2.0
Rhymes and Ammo ft. Talib Kweli
Lazy Afternoon

Unbelievable live experience, look up their Kool Haus concert on youtube. I was there and it was overwhelmingly incredible.
Rihanna - Hate That I Love You (Feat. Ne-Yo)
The Game - The Pledge
UGK - Top Drop Dyne

Snow Patrol - "Signal Fire" from the Spider-Man 3 OST. Just an amazing song. Can't stop playing it.

Listened to that earlier. Still trying to debate about my opinion on it. Right now, iTunes is on shuffle so we have...
The Isley Brothers - "Lucky Charm"
The Isley Brothers - "Take A Ride"
Ha, shuffle.

I'm a big fan of The Roots, they are extremely talented. I really respect them as a group. Plenty of people say that rap isn't music, so I just make them listen to The Roots and they shut up because they actually play instruments.
What I'm listening to right now:
Beastie Boys- No Sleep til' Brooklyn
