Diego Corrales Apprecitation Thread (R.I.P)
The boxing world recently world lost one of its finest members. Diego "Chico" Corrales passed away in a motorcycle accident early Tuesday morning. As of right now, Boxingtalk.com is the only site reporting it, but its definitely a reliable source. I'm sure more will be reporting in the morning. The report was confirmed by his manager, James Prince.
I thought that it would be a good idea to start a thread where we could all say RIP for Diego and talk about some of our favorite memories. No trolls please. He was only 29 years old and had many, many more good years of putting on top notch fights left in his tank.
Diego had mad pop at 135 and he always was in excellent fights. If you're a casual fan and you're turned off by Floyd Mayweather's style, then Diego was exactly what you were looking for. Every time Diego stepped in the ring, somebody was getting knocked the **** out. He was ruthless in the ring, especially in his his first fight with Joel Casamayor. If anybody saw this fight, then there is no way you could forget how badly Diego was cut on his mouth and he still would not give up. He was a true warrior. His first fight against Jose Luis Castillo is widely regarded as one of the most entertaining fights ever. It was an absolute war. My greatest memory of Diego is that he had the heart of a champion. His lip was about to fall off against Casamayor and he still wanted more. He was furious when they stopped the fight.
RIP Diego Corrales. You were a warrior that was taken too soon, but you will not be forgotten. My condolences go out to Diego's family.

wow, so sad. RIP. That fight against Casamoyer is a testament of his fortitude. The guy had a heart like none other. And entertainment wise, the JLC was epic.
RIP.

<+BOE> Scott, with Burfict's character concerns (whether legit or not) you think Pioli would draft him. :D
<+ScottWright> Why not. Baldwin does need a sparring partner...
