Here's a thought for the off-topic discussion:
What the hell is in the water in Denver? Your guys are dropping dead left and right (don't start throwing daggers, Im only kidding) but seriously you guys have had a few hard breaks recently.
This is a question I wonder - if death happens, does the contract they signed still count against the cap for the remainder of the current contract or how does that work?

doubtful, i'm sure it's off the board as the player is technically no longer with the team. signing bonus money likely sitll counts as it was guaranteed.

But there-in lies the question ... I think the rule was intended to be played out in the scenario that a guy is promised X amount of dollars and instead of playing for that team, gets traded or let go and someone else is utilizing his talent so therefore the money promised to him in return for playing for Team Y was broken by the team voluntarily so the remainder of that sum should be charged to the team.
Now, breathe because I know I have a point to be made but the above sounds really winded and not even sure if it makes sense.
Assuming the player dies (unfortunately) or retires and noone else is benefiting from his skills, why should a team still be penalized?
Call me crazy.

My opinion is you should be given at least 3rd round compensatory picks for death of a starter, 6th for a non-starter. No offense but death, not retirement should prohibit salalry being counted against the cap, even though the guaranted portion of the salary is still paid.
As far as if a client takes early retirement it should be not counted against the cap. Imagine signing Cory Dillion to a ten year deal back loaded, and then he retires after next year, we should not be off the hook.
As far as this Team Forum, why the hell do we need it, what the 6 of us have not talked about "non-draft related stuff." I think it is a copy of other larger sites, and I applaud thinking big however . . . the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Is their anything anything discussed here that would not be discussed on what used to be the denver broncos only site - and that includes the Raiders suck comment.

We probably only got it because everyone else did. I predict it will pretty much just be a page or two of 1, maybe 2 page threads at it's peak.

meh, you'd be surprised. this kind of thing can help bring in new users quickly, because they feel more welcome talking about something they know before they dive into deeper waters elsewhere (yeah yeah, forgive me for calling some parts of this board deep).

don't be such a fair weather fan, njx. there's nothing wrong with rooting for a losing team.

Ahhh... the resurgence of threads that probably won't last another 3 days, let alone get another post. Couldn't find another place that would fit this...
Just would like to announce that I am currently in Bucieras, Mexico for the next week living it up. It's currently 8:56 AM here.
