"Do a find and replace (under edit); increase the font size of the period.

Edit--replace--in "find what" put a period.
Put the cursor in "replace with"
Click the blue arrow on the left (or whatever gets you into format). Select font. Change the font to a few points larger.

Under "replace what" it should now say the name of the larger font. Type a period. Then click "replace all.""
