LT will win this one. He not only has broken the TD record with 3 weeks remaining, but he plays on the hottest team in the league right now. Brees deserves this award; No doubt. But LT is just unreal.

Another thing to notice, while Brees has put up an awesome amount of passing yards, his team has four losses, all of which came while Brees had 300+ yards passing. He put up some gaudy stats, but half of his 'big' games have come in garbage time in four losses.
Shaun Alexander, while having the Touchdown and Rushing Title records, hardly was on the field in passing situations. Alexander padded his stats against dreadful run defenses, such as Arizona, St Louis and San Francisco six times, Houston, Tennessee, Indianapolis when resting starters, Green Bay, Atlanta. Tomlinson has had a much tougher schedule than Alexander had, and has destroyed his production from last year, while being a force on passing downs. Also, can anyone say that Tomlinson has the help that Alexander had last year?

Even though I hate the Chargers LT deserves that record more than Alexander does. SA didn't even deserve it then, he let Maurice Morris get him to the 1-yard line and then made Holmgren sub him in. He in no way, shape or form deserved MVP. This year, LT did it with as you said a MUCH harder schedule, and did it while being much more dominant, and not havgin what is widely considered the best offensive line in football.

A case can be made for Brees.
Brees turned the Saints around, they have been bad for years but now 9-4? Brees and the Saints turned it around quick.
LT is dominating though and does deserve the award, but either way saying that brees should win does not make him a "dee dee dee" (also Carlos Mencia deserves to be shot)

LT. Any time a RB rushes for more TD's than a QB throws for, you know he's having a special season.

If Tomlinson doesn't win this award, it would be basically impossible to ever give the award to a runningback again. Tomlinson has had one of (if not the best) seasons for a runningback in history. How can you not give it to him?

Co-MVPs.

The fact that Bruschi split the Co-MVP while Mark Fields didn't even come close is a travesty.

They're both very good, but I think Drew Brees should get it.

There ought to be a law against homers.
LT's team has a better record, a tougher division, and has a bigger load of his teams offense. Thank God homers don't vote for MVP awards.

I think since LT locked up the TD record I figure he will get it.

i'm sort of amazed that brees is even in the discussion. the most valuable crap doesn't fly either way (take LT off the chargers and they're probably tied up with denver and KC instead of clinching home field). and brees, by comparison, isn't having half the season that LT is. barring him literally giving away the last three games, i don't see how anyone could realistically vote any other way.

Drew Brees definately deserves to win the MVP this year. He took a team that was 4-12 last year and now is 2nd in the NFC. Hes making stars out of players we havent even heard of like Colston, and hes producing unbelievable numbers. LT is producing great numbers too, but his team was already great before this year with all the talent they had. Although LT will probably get it, Brees definately deserves it more.

You are right Brees has turned the franchise around. He also has some good stats to go along with it: 4,033 yards, 25 TD's and 10 picks those numbers right there should say right there that he is MVP and OPOY worthy.

3-13 and the second pick in the NFL draft last year but who's counting?

huh... so drew brees is the only change in new orleans, eh? weak reasoning. i'm sure having a healthy running back and a new coach and some good receiving were simply products of drew brees showing up.

LT is havign a record breaking year. This season is amazing for a RB. Brees is having a great season and has helped turn a franchise around but he is not having the same record breaking year that LT is.
When the RB in this discussion has more TDs than the QB you should know who to give it to.

People say "Brees turned around New Orleans" like LT HASN'T put the entire team on his back, for the last 6 years.
