I think he retires. He has had a great run in Pittsburgh but it is time for him to retire and let Whisenhunt take over.

I think he'll retire, too. I think if he was staying, he'd make it known now, instead of waiting until after the season.

Wait until Childress actually has some talent on offense before you get too hard on him. I don't think any other coach would have made a difference with their abysmal offensive personnel.

I have a sneaking feeling that Cowher finishes out the last year of his contract with Pittsburgh. I don't think he want to go out on this kind of note but if he does retire I don't expect the Rooney family to promote from within the franchise.

Just think about it Logically.
Steelers won the Superbowl -> Cower is head coach of the Steelers -> Steelers and Chargers in the AFC -> Chargers win the Superbowl.
Simple logic.

I could see that. Whisenhunt would be a great hire for nostaligic reasons (former GT and ATL TE) and he would be good in what he would bring, a sane, disciplinarian style head coach who would would have an OC who could take our ZBS line and have them in better pass protection and have our WR's in better routes and overall better playcalling than there has been. the DC would be a guy like Jim Bates and the OC could be a guy like Mike Sherman.
