CJ Holton has said that he should be fine and he should be in class next Tuesday.

Also Gavin Hardin said he should be fine and he should be in class tuesday as well.

Also from what I have been scooping around is that CJ Odom and Antonio Harper did not get the scores they needed. (So im guessing there not coming this year, I have not heard if they were able to retake it.)

Also Zach Kane was arrested last saturday at a party where he was accussed of breaking a beer bottle over some kids head, he is not expected to be on campus next tuesday until the investigation clears up.

Well thats all I have for now

the only guys we are waiting on right now to see if they get in are.
Ben Jones
Brandon Washington
CJ Odom
Antonio Harper
and just in case if they were wrong.
CJ Holton
Gavin Hardin

also the rumors are false about Marcus Robinson having bad grades, he was already qualified.

Well thats all I have for now and remember to look around for info next tuesday to see who got in and who didn't.
All old news.

1.)Robinson qualified months ago. There really, really old articles about it all over rivals.

2.)Ben Jones and Brandon Washington just got scores back a couple weeks ago. Both 1 point shy on the ACT. They just took the 2nd test.

3.)Gavin Hardin has been qualified for about a month. There are old article about it all over rivals.

4.)Holton still isn't 100 percent but has seemed in good position since in the day he committed.

5.) It's been well known that Harper and Odom are the two biggest candidates to not qualify. Nobody expects them to be here.

Never heard the Zach Kane arrest tho. I'll look into it.

Only kid that worries me is Brandon Washington. Other then that, all the big boys are getting in or have already gotten in.

Kane cracked a bottle over the kid at a house party. He got arrested and now the kid has to have plastic surgery to fix himself.

Let's give the kid the benefit of the doubt before rushing to judgement. It certainly sounds like a bonehead move but who knows the circumstances. Maybe the kid he hit pulled out a knife on Kane and Kane had no choice but to use the bottle. I wanna hear the whole story 1st. Kane just didn't seem like the type of kid that would get into any trouble.

True, we shouldn't rush to judgement. Though with the opportunity he has in front of him, he should be careful not to put himself in potentially bad situations.

But again, who knows the situation. Yea Kane needs to be careful but would you blame him if his GF's ex showed up uninvited to a small house party drunk, pulled a weapon on Kane and Kane then did this in defense? Granted it's unlikely but still, lets not start ripping the kid without getting more info outside of "he hit someone with a beer bottle"

Kane IS "that type" of kid. Six months prior to the beer bottle attack, he attacked a student from another township school requiring extensive dental work for the attackee. Recently, he was prohibited from suiting up for the NY-NJ All Star game for alcohol/curfew violations. He's currently free on $20k bail, and lives in a motel. ASBURY PARK PRESS: During his career, Kane's emotions at times had gotten the best of him. He was ejected from a game against Jackson Memorial last year (06). This year (07), he had been incident-free until the South Jersey Group IV final against Mainland, when he was ejected in the second quarter for unsportsmanlike-conduct.

Let's revive this thread, gameday is less than a month away now!

LaRon Byrd picked #47 as his number. I forget, have we ever had any great players wear that #? :D Big shoes to fill, kid.

Hocutt is trying to schedule a home and home or neutral site game with Notre Shame.

DJP, don't you if your heard this or not but per CMAR, all of the late guys, Holton, Marti, Lewis, Hardin are all locks to redshirt this year. Kinda let down on Hardin, wanted to see him as a pass rush specialist.

All of the late guys DO appear to be on their way to grabbing the redshirt.

The only one I was surprised about was Hardin because he could be a great special teamer from day 1.

The other ones need to add weight, and add weight fast. I think Marti was a wasted scholly, one that we should have used on a certain player that should have never left Miami to begin with (being Q Taylor from MNW)

I think Holton will be playing this year probably. Holton is waiting on a letter from UM admissions office right now to be allowed in.

I think Holton could compete for playing time, I wouldnt just throw him under the reshirt bus yet lets give him a chance.

BTW im not too happy about Marti being in the class, he never really wowed me before. I think out of all 4 that are going to prep, Washington will be the only one to be offered back.

I was just wondering? Is there anyone else here that thinks Allen Bailey just may not be human?

I just think that if Tebow tries to go all Heisman on us, Bailey will just terminate him.

I'm love to see Tebow spend most of the game in a Moncur/Bailey sandwich.

However, the key to the game will be DVD getting physical and throwing Harvin all over the field, leaving Tebow's running as the bulk of the offense. Tought assignment for DVD.

Very true, but he's got the speed and talent for such an assignment.

I don't know that he's got the speed. I don't know what any CB in college football has the speed or quickness to hang with Harvin. But thanks to hard work, he does have the size to muscle him at the line and with some help from the safety, they can keep Harvin contained.

Bailey, Moncur, McCarthy, Sharpton and others are gonna have to have a good game rushing the passer. Dixon is going to need to play his ass off to stuff the middle of the line and DVD+ help will need to limit Harvin's production. With that done, we will have a real good chance to win that game.

Hate to admit tho, it's a longshot. But there's a reason why college football is the most exciting sport in America.

You can't assign one person to stop Harvin. He will be all over the field at many different positions doing many different things. The most influential player in stopping him will be Randy Phillips, seeing as he's an athletic safety that is assuming a leadership role, so I'd expect Phillips to be calling out adjustments for Harvin and keying him in deep zone, outside run, or bubble screens. Physical corners would be nice to force and contain against Harvin and Rainey....can't dispute that.

I think our defense will be fine...and I'm not the optimistic type. As long as everyone's healthy, we will have lots of depth, rotation, size, speed, and toughness. It all starts with our defensive front and that's a plus for us IMO. Everyone on the line sounds much improved already.

What the game will come down is a matchup of mediocre O (us) vs. mediocre D (them), and great O vs great D, plus specials.

Last point.....we definitely have the talent this year to succeed against a weak ACC...what it comes down to is coaching. Do we develop the young guys, and how do we manage the roster with so much depth but few true standouts. I don't want our team to be a mess of substitutions, but I'd like to see most of our players serving different roles that suit their talents.
