lolz.
No it really did suck....I actually took a year off from my middle school's football team in 7th grade, to play with a traveling team. And they were older players so, we didn't have a weight restriction. So, I went up to like 160 with very little fat to lose, so I had to constantly starve myself to play on my middle school's 8th grade team. I felt like a wrestler. One of the worst time periods of my life. I was always sick back then too, because of this.

We had to weigh in before every game. I was always stripping down to my boxers (sounds bad)...and if we were like a pound over, you had to put some trash bags on under a sweat shirt or two and run laps until you made weight. Fun.

You were 160 in 8th grade? Damn, I hovered around 115/120 and I was around normal size for my class if I remember correctly. In fact I didn't crack 160 until my senior year in high school.

I think I was in the 160-170 range in 8th grade, but I was like 6-3 back then.

It was more my natural weight since I shot up there after I stopped all the dieting. I was one of the kid's that kind of looked older physically than the majority. Not with the face, just body wise. I wasnt fat either, I had to lose the 20 pounds and had no where to lose it from. It was hell. I wasnt the only one, though. There was about 4 of us that were always struggling to make weight. My freshman year, I got up in the 170's, one of the reasons I went to varsity right away.

haha. It's crazy to watch. Back then I was just wide eyed and ran straight forward most of the time. Probably didnt even know what I was doing, either. That kid is nuts.

We had all the big guys at skill positions and every lineman was like 100 pounds...it was so stupid. And we only ran 3 plays and didnt pass.

Yeah, pretty much every cornerback in middle school is a shut-down corner by default.

I graduated 6'0" at 120. I'm going to guess I win that BMI war. (I ran cross country.)

When you run 10+ miles per day, you have a hard time keeping weight on. I'd say I was easily pushing 70 miles a week (winter because it's cold, summer because you are on the track, and in season during track weeks). Maybe closer to 100 on heavier weeks (any week not on a track). We'd run for an hour after school, I'd run for an hour before school. Then on weekends, I'd run at night before I went to sleep and the morning when I got up. Most XC runners have a hard time keeping weight on. The little muscle you build in your legs doesn't stay long.

I know plenty of people that ran XC in HS, and i'm even friends with one guy who runs XC for my University, and none of them are that thin.
