This is no BS. I had a parent conference two weeks ago where the parent questioned why I gave a student a 50% F on 3 consecutive assignments. I showed the mother where her child had gotten half way through the activities and quit answering questions. She argued, "But if the ones he answered where all correct, he deserves higher than a 50%. You need to change it!"

some parents are so stupid. They think the teacher is the bad person when they're kids have bad grades. This part makes me excited to be a teacher.

Where to start? Do I tell you about the parent who came to a conference drunk with lit cigarette in his mouth or the mother who accused me of being a racist because I sent her daughter to the office for improper dress code? No wait, how about the one where a father accused me of wrongfully reporting his son as being absent. He said I was trying to fail his son by making sure he was marked absent a certain number of days. He came up to the school to complain to the Principal and while he was there, the police brought the son back to the school in a squad car. He had been arrested that morning for leaving school campus and then got caught shop-lifting. He spent the next month at the Juvenile Detention Center.

Back home, some peers of mine threw more than six dozen eggs at a teachers house because they didn't exempt the final exam (90% or higher), while her son did exempt, even though he had an 84% three days prior to the teachers posting the exemption list. To this day, none of us know how he went up 6% in three days with no major assignments missing.

They (3) were suspended for a week.

I teach 6th -8th grade.
I am certified in English Language Arts, Computer Literacy and Physical Education. This year I am teaching a Robotics course.

Reminds me of why I couldn't be a teacher...I'd give 95% of the kids A's, but fail the rest because they annoyed me and/or reminded me of people i hated when I was in school and/or were just douchebags in general.

Same for being a cop...I'd let most people get away with warnings unless they were a douche then I'd find some way to really bring the hammer down on them.

My cop mate does that. If you speed or run a stop sign and you are polite and courteous, he'll let you off. Give him lip and he'll book you for everything he possibly can.

Especially with there being a bunch of abandoned orphans inside. There's no evidence for that being true but I want his feat of manliness to be as epic as possible. If only he had ridden up to the tracks on his own motorcycle instead of on the back of some other dude's.
