Just saw Hugo in 3d. Sensational movie, really visually interesting. Not a kids movie at all but seems to have been marketed that way. Really good performances all around and great overall feel to the entire movie.
I would especially recommend this to people that are seriously into film/film history.

I saw Hugo as well, but I certainly consider it a kid/family movie that still appeals to older ages.

I think that to fully appreciate the film you had to be older. I mean a child could have enjoyed it on a simpler level, but I think it was a more complex and mature movie than the style and story would indicate.

That's because compared to other Scorcese films, Hugo is the Wizard of Oz or a Disney movie or something.

I loved Hugo. Very interesting visuals as mentioned and it tells a nice story as well. It's appealing to kids, but not really a kids movie.
Might be going to see it again, actually. My girlfriends grandmother is over from England for the Holidays. She runs a film club there, so I figure it would be something she would appreciate.

Anne Hathaway looks so devious when she whispers in Bruce's ear.

Neither are kangaroos but I don't feel the need to point it out just because you're a useless Aussie.

If this was the 'Australian Stuff' thread I would accept your opinion. As this is the movie thread, it is irrelevant, whereas a comment about a movie trailer is completely relevant.
Sand out of your giny please Brody!

3. 50/50
4. X-Men: First Class
5. Source Code
6. Thor
7. The Beaver

9. Water for Elephants
10. Win Win
Still have yet to see a lot of movies though.

I agree with the Source Code love. Its definitely not at the top, but it gets ignored too much. I'm a huge Jake Gyllenhaal fan.
General Favorites
Warrior
Planet of the Apes
Captain America
Moneyball
Source Code
Random Bro Movie
Fast Five

Friends with Benefits
Movie to Watch at Night
