You should agree on the Seltzerberg point, unless you like one of the following...
-Date Movie
-Epic Movie
-Disaster Movie
-Meet the Spartans
-Vampires Suck
And oh ****, they're doing another movie. **** **** ****, why did you do this to me Jvig?

Jvig, since you and I are both lovers of hilariously awful movies, have you seen John Carter yet?

No I have not. I thought it would end up just being mediocre enough to not be enjoyable as a "bad" movie. But if youre telling me it is worth watching because it was terrible I will check it out.

Watched "In Time" I enjoyed it a lot. Still wondering a bit about certain parts though as to why things went that way.

Havent seen it yet, but all the reviews make it sound as though I should get drunk and then see it.

John Carter is a shining example of what humanity should be and will be the uniting force that carries us to a new era of greatness.

I would join you in this if I lived closer, but from what I have seen it looks like it will be a forgettable watch that isn't anything spectacular or anything horrendous. Personally I just like watching TWD for free, but since that is over JC will do.

I've read reviews that have said it's entertaining, or at the very worst, mediocre. Really haven't seen anyone call it awful.

It's entertaining, but definitely one I would categorize under "won't pay money to watch."
I actually started reading the book after watching it, and the story is pretty much spot on so far (I'm only like 25% through it). Really the acting is just subpar, and the visual effects are good not great. It's not a terrible movie, it just cost way too much to make.

“The Hunger Games” has already earned roughly 2.5 times as much money at the North American box office as “John Carter” has during the past two weeks.
And it did so with a budget well below half of what it cost to make “John Carter.” If only Disney had spent less money and handed Taylor Kitsch a bow and arrow, things could have turned out differently.
|
I just had to laugh at this quote.
Hunger Games in 4 days: $155M in North America
John Carter in two weeks: $180M worldwide
Also, 3rd largest opening ever and largest for a non sequel. Hunger Games is the ish.

I saw The Hunger Game last night. I really enjoyed it. I think they did the best they could converting into a movie format. You can only fit so much into a 2 hour movie and they kept a lot in without slowing down the movie.

Its a real easy read but it kept me interested. I'm probably gonna read the next 2 in the next couple weeks now.

Agreed. I love the pacing of it, it just flows well. You almost forget how long you've been reading at times and then realize...o **** it's been an hour and a half and I'm 100+ pages in. My brother took the 2nd one up to school unfourtunately, but I got a long time to read that.

I haven't read the books or seen the movie but a lot of my friends have done so and they were pretty disappointed with the movie.
Said it wasn't bad but a let down, none the less

It's a good book if you enjoy a writing style aimed at children.

I'd have to agree with that, not horrible, but quite the let down.
