Ridley Scott also hasn't made one in 33 years, so I'm pretty damn skeptical of his ability to still do so.

I don't care if it's Ridley Scott or not, it's part of that universe and I want to see it.

Is it actually part of the universe is that confirmed? Because I have heard it rumored to be so, but I didn't see anything definite.

I had to study most of his plays in Celtic Lit this year...He's a much more talented filmmaker then playwright. Let's just leave it at that.

I have not heard of this movie. Was it a fan-fiction of the three Alien movies?

That's because they raped David Fincher's intent for the film.

The cabin in the woods is just a hell of a fun time. The last 30 minutes, you just have a huge grin on your face. Awesome, creative film.

I saw this trailer today in theaters. They really did a good job with Gordon-Levitt's makeup from what I can tell. Seems like it might be interesting:

I agree. I just got back from seeing it and I appreciated it for how different it was compared to a lot of films being produced today.

I enjoyed Lockout. Guy Pierce is the man and carried it well.
Is CGI underbudgeted at times? Yes.
Do they have a poor mans Gerard Butler as the bad guy? Yes.
Is there nudity? No...
However, I'm a huge nerd and this was a nice enough blend of Escape from New York in space with a Blade Runner type future and the space stuff was cool.

I am ashamed for ever questioning anything Whedon does. Cabin in the woods is probably my new favorite horror movie. Just ******* fantastic all around.

Apparently so. Its gonna be weird watching a different Spiderman though. I guess Toby Maguire is too old to play Peter Parker in a Spiderman 4 so they just decided to make it again in the hope of making some money.

I'm not big into horror movies, should I still see the Cabin in the Woods?

It's not a pure horror movie, so yes you should.

It's more of a meta horror movie. And it is seriously ******* awesome. I am ashamed I ever doubted it, I will probably being going to see it once more before Avengers comes out.

The Hunter was good but I wasn't a big fan of the ending. Black Gold was very good. Heavy on romanticism about Arabian history but worth watching. Mark Strong becoming one of my favorite actors.

Heard they started it as an Alien prequel then took it further.

It kind of pokes fun at the cliche horror formula. An interesting take really. The movie is kind of convenient in it's plot (especially toward the end), but it's still worth a watch.

This movie looks pretty great. Michael Fassbender is very easily on of the best actors working today.
