Watching the Michael Keaton Batman after years and after watching Nolan's Batman films it actually makes me appreciate it even more. And Jack was crazy as ****.

Don't get it twisted. Nowhere did I say it was better. Nolan's perfection made me appreciate this film more for what it is.

Nolan's Batman = action/drama film
Burton's Batman = campy comic book film
Both have their perks.
Burton's brings back a lot of nostalgia for me.

I think that's why I like it so much. Plus the music just feels like Batman music.

It depends how you like your Batman. Some folks like their Batman more mysterious, which Burton's film does a pretty good job at doing. I still enjoy that film a lot and watch it every now and then. The production value is great too.

Burton's Batman isn't a campy Superhero movie. It's a Burton movie with Batman happening to be in it.

The description of the test reel for Ant Man that was shot sounded funny.

So Iron Man didn't even have a script.
Quote:
"They had no script, man. They had an outline. We would show up for big scenes every day and we wouldn't know what we were going to say. We would have to go into our trailer and work on this scene and call up writers on the phone, 'You got any ideas?' Meanwhile the crew is tapping their foot on the stage waiting for us to come on."
Bridges, director Jon Favreau and Robert Downey Jr. would literally act out sequences during primitive rehearsals, Downey taking on Bridges's role and vice versa, to find and essentially improvise their way to full scenes, the actor recounts. Bridges says that the entire production was probably saved by the improv prowess of the film's director and star.
"You've got the suits from Marvel in the trailer with us saying, 'No, you wouldn't say that,'" Bridges continued. "You would think with a $200 million movie you'd have the **** together, but it was just the opposite. And the reason for that is because they get ahead of themselves. They have a release date before the script, ‘Oh, we'll have the script before that time,' and they don't have their **** together.
"Jon dealt with it so well," Bridges continues. "It freaked me out. I was very anxious. I like to be prepared. I like to know my lines, man, that's my school. Very prepared. That was very irritating, and then I just made this adjustment. It happens in movies a lot where something's rubbing against your fur and it's not feeling right, but it's just the way it is. You can spend a lot of energy bitching about that or you can figure out how you're going to do it, how you're going to play this hand you've been dealt. What you can control is how you perceive things and your thinking about it. So I said, ‘Oh, what we're doing here, we're making a $200 million student film. We're all just ******' around! We're playin'. Oh, great!' That took all the pressure off. ‘Oh, just jam, man, just play.' And it turned out great!"

Hank Pym
Super genius in the Marvel community and a founding member of the Avengers. He invents a chemical that allows him to shrink to the size of an ant or grow to the size of a giant. He also has a helmet that allows him to communicate with bugs. Awesome huh?
He's kind of a dick though. Slapped Janet Van Dyne (The Wasp) around and created one of the Avengers greatest foes in Ultron. Hopefully with Pym making it to the big screen this opens the door for Ultron to be in a future Avengers movie.

An Ant-Man movie surrounding the Ultron storyline would be awesome, IMO, but not in keeping with where Edgar Wright's strengths as a filmmaker lie. That'd be more of a haunting, Frankenstein-esque narrative, whereas I'm picturing more "Scott Pilgrim meets The Avengers" for Ant-Man's vibe. I'd love to see Ultron as an Avengers villain though, that would be really cool.
Something to ponder though: There's been rumors forever that Nathan Fillion would be cast as Hank Pym/Ant-Man, and when pressed about any casting this weekend, all Wright had to say was that "Ant-Man was at Comic-Con". Fillion was there for the 10th anniversary of Firefly...Fillion and Whedon re-uniting for Avengers 2?

Its so exciting what's going on right now with this age of Superhero movies. So many great stories have already been written, they just have to flesh out the dialog and bring the still panels to life. Superhero movies are the only movies I go to the theaters to see anymore.

Guys its time to rejoice! For it could have been a lot lot worse.
Quote:
|
"During the filming of Batman & Robin, Warner Bros. was impressed with the dailies. This prompted them to immediately hire Joel Schumacher to return as director for a sequel, but writer Akiva Goldsman, who worked on Batman Forever and Batman & Robin with Schumacher, turned down the chance to write the script.[35] In late 1996, Warner Bros. and Schumacher hired Mark Protosevich to write the script for a fifth Batman film. A projected mid-1999 release date was announced.[41] Titled Batman Triumphant, Protosevich's script had the Scarecrow as the main villain. The Joker would return as a hallucination in Batman's mind caused by the Scarecrow's fear toxin. Harley Quinn appeared as a supporting character, written as the Joker's daughter trying to get revenge on Batman for the Joker's death.[42] George Clooney, Chris O'Donnell and Alicia Silverstone were set to reprise the roles of Batman, Robin and Batgirl, it was unknown who would play the Scarecrow or Harley Quinn but Howard Stern,[43] Nicolas Cage, Steve Buscemi, Ewan McGregor or Jeff Goldblum were suggestions for the role, Madonna could have been the choice for Harley Quinn but an actress wasn't hired, and Jack Nicholson was to reprise his role from the Tim Burton film.[44] However, when Batman & Robin received negative reviews and failed to outgross any of its predecessors, Warner Bros. was unsure of their plans for Batman Triumphant. The studio decided it was best to consider a live-action Batman Beyond film and an adaptation of Frank Miller's Batman: Year One. Warner Bros. would then greenlight whichever idea suited them the most.[45] Schumacher felt he "owe[d] the Batman culture a real Batman movie. I would go back to the basics and make a dark portrayal of the Dark Knight."[46] He approached Warner Bros. to do Batman: Year One in mid-1998.[46]"
