I am telling you, Gonzo, it's fantastic. I love the way Howard did this one. It's really good especially since I have seen those DVDs with the original tapes of this interview. I wont say award worthy, as I need to see it again before saying that.

Does the guy who plays Nixon's voice get annoying? It sounds soooo bad/off to me from the previews.

Well considering that's how Papa Nixon talked, no.

Frank Langella has Nixon to a tee

The movie ending was different than the novella (and significantly better, might I add).

I completely disagree, the impersonation of his voice is way too thick.

I haven't read The Mist just saw the movie so that's good to hear. But King does do that in his books sometimes from what I have read.

I think Hopkins did a better impersonation of him, based on the trailer of Frost/Nixon only though.

Everything I am reading says Langella gives a spot on brilliant performance of Nixon.

I don't mean to say he doesn't, I think he has the mannerisms and look and so forth down, but I just think Hopkins sounded more like him.

I heard the trailer for frost/nixon on the radio and langella's nixon impression sounded horribly over the top. He does have the look from watching the trailer but hearing it with no visual to it it really sounded bad and like it'd get annoying quick.

It's not annoying at all, his voice is a bit deeper than Nixon's was but there is only so much you can do to correct it. His performance as Nixon is just amazing though. I really, really enjoyed the film.

Saw Z&M make a porno today. It really didn't do anything to separate itself from the pack of the other comedies in the past few months and the ending was too cliche for me. Still had some good laughs though.

Yeah Frost/Nixon and Milk is on top of my must see list right behind The Curious Case. From some of the reviews I've read, the performances from the cast of Milk was pretty sick. I know Penn is always on point, but they say Hirsch steals the show in most of the scenes he's in and that James Franco puts on his best performance. I'm going to try to catch it this Friday.

Update on the Watchmen movie! I've gotten my hands on a few of the screenplays and uploaded them to torrent. Don't ask how.

Here you go: http://www.torrentreactor.net/torren...yter-Hamm-2009

For reference, Hamm's screenplay is the oldest and least valid. Hayter (of Solid Snake fame) wrote the bulk of the script which was edited by Tse.

I read part of the Hayter script a month or so ago, then stopped because I'd like to leave the rest of it until after the movie. I don't have particularly high hopes for Snyder's vision of Watchmen, but I'd rather not color it with what it could have been until after I know what it is.

But yeah. No squid monster at the end. Lame.

But yeah. No squid monster at the end. Lame.
Yeah that really bugs me, although I'm sure they're are other ways to accomplish the same result as the squid monster. I'm waiting to see that come out before I read any screenplays.

I can only assume it's some sort of Dr. Manhattan thing that Veidt triggers (the Intrinsic Field Subtractor perhaps?). I can't imagine it would so tame as Veidt setting off nuclear weapons, because that would certainly eliminate a lot of what made Veidt's mission unique. But then again, if Manhattan plays a role, then that sort of undercuts his decision to leave Earth.

I don't know. I understand why they wrote it out, but I also think that there's a risk too much of the ending is lost in the process.

Oh man, I remember that. What happened to Jay Mohr? I remember he had that show where he was a producer or something that was pretty funny but was canceled then he disappeared.

EDIT: The name of it was Action and I am in the process of getting it. Good deal.
