Cornerbacks
Do you guys think William *** will be pushing a starting spot this season. On the steelers roster it just has him listed as CB. Rather than LCB or RCB, so its not for sure who he would be competiting against.
Who do you think he could give the most run for their money come regular season time?
Bryant McFadden has been very good for the 2 years he's played with the steelers going on 3. And possibly was the one who saved our super bowl hopes against the colts in 2005-06, breaking up the Manning-Wayne reception.
I think we all remember this...
So do you think William can have the same great start as Bryant had?

There is a zero percent chance *** will start. *** role this year and next will be a nickel/dime zone corner.

I'm not so sure about next year if he progresses quick..
Though this year he and Madison will likely backup Ike with McFadden behind DeShea.

I don't think *** and Ricardo both make the team. Ike, McFadden, and Townsned are locks. I think we'll see two of Ricardo, Madison, and *** make the roster.
Hopefully *** and McFadden.

Hopefully you meant Hopefully G-A-Y and Madison. Ricardo is a lock at a no if it was up to me.

Thats what I meant. Taylor, McFadeen and Townsent are locks. Only teo of ***, Madison, and Ricardo can make it.
I want Taylor, McFadden, Townsend, ***, and Madison to the on the team. If we carry 6 I have no problem carrying Ricardo but I don't want him over Madison or *** who I think have more potential and play alot more physical than Ricardo does.

Best part about that save is that he was covering Wayne twice to save the game and nearly made an INT on an underthrown ball the 2nd time that would have sealed the game aswell.
McFadden has great potential and will be a starter but he really didn't progress enough in his 2nd year. I think it was just a down year all around and it is hard to progress when the entire team is playing like that and I'm expecting alot from him.
But I would still start Taylor and Townsend at the begining of the year. Let McFadden know that he still has to prove himself to earn the starting job.

I agree with Ike and Deshea starting... Then safeties Polamalu is a lock. Ryan Clark is nasty, but Anthony Smith can give him a run for his money as well.

Here's how I see it:
FS: Job is open between Clark and Smith
SS: Troy Polamalu -> Tyrone Carter
LCB: Ike Taylor -> William ***
RCB: DeShea Townsend -> Bryant McFadden
Thats 8 and we're likely to keep 10 DB's so..
Lorello, Chidi, Rico and Madison are battling for a spot. From what I've heard Chidi (Special Teams) is being way outgunned by Anthony Madison.. So I really have a feeling:
LCB: Ike -> G-A-Y -> Madison
RCB: Townsend -> McFadden -> Coke
Unless Chidi shows something special, or Lorello somehow just comes on strong.

I liked Lorello at WVU but i really don't think we need much more help at safety. Unless he does realy well at special teams he doesn't need to make the team.

I agree.. though
Tyrone has an injury history.. Troy has concussion issue.
Lorello might make it as a 5th safety.
