Referred to him as the "man upstairs" once.

When trying to fill his perscription, he tried writing one from his father. The lady wanted to verify it with him, but Jack said "not to bother calling" . . . because he was dead.

No mention of a him/her or anything. Jack just said something about "the funeral". There was no mention of any other specifics.

I was thinking last night about the numbers and how they went with the story line and the only one i could think of was 15 people died on that episode.

1-10. The others on the beach
11. Charlie
12. The girl in th Looking Glass
13. The other girl.
14. Mikhal should be dead
15. Naomi

Yeah i didnt understand why jack was asking for his dad either. Also to answer the guy who called Charlie a ****** for not going out then closing it, because it would only lock one way and it would be inside.

The theory I'm working on right now is the coffin was one of the people that Jack liked, be it a survivor, desmond or Juliet, slowly as they get back everyone dies from freak accidents. Jack feels he has caused all this.

First of all . . . the new paper article definitely says that "a MAN" died.

Secondly, Jack was asked if the deceased was "friend or family" to which Jack responded "neither." He didn't like the person who died, eliminating all the survivors, Desmond, Juliet, and basically everyone but Locke and Ben. Locke obviously is still on the island. Ben is not. Ben is the deceased, and that explains why Jack referred to him as "neither." He didn't like Ben, but he still felt obligated to go to his funeral. Jack knew Ben was right and that they should have never left. He owed it to him.

I don't think any of the survivors are really 'friends'.

Everyone was convinced it was purgatory a few weeks ago, they were dead wrong. There is no way anyone is 100% sure of anything at this point.

Quite frankly, we have no idea what happened in between the "rescue" and the present. Except that Jack has hit rock bottom. Any other assumptions are premature.

theres no way its anybody but ben in the coffin. jack said he wasnt a friend or family. kate said "why would i go". the reason there was nobody there because he grew up on the island, he doesnt know anybody out outside the island.
