I don't get it. They are really counting on Kagawa to be a stud in the midfield. I wonder if they are going to continue to play Rooney in a deeper role. I would think they'll have to.

Who's excited for the US to finally win in Azteca tonight?
Will be interesting to see Edu play center back.

That's a big win for USA. Howard made a few great saves at the end to secure the victory.

Hopefully the team maintains the momentum for the next three months with World Cup Qualifying. Their first two games were less than stellar.

yay 1-23-1 record in mexico! god lalas is an idiot. anyone catch his comment about the mexico-usa rivalry being the best football rivalry in the world? having him as the face of american soccer commentary just reaffirms the world's view of america being an ignorant arrogant asshole.
i don't get what SAF's doing either. what united need most is a daniele de rossi. fantasy PL's gonna be even tougher trying to pick who's gonna be starting for united.

I think I bought Welbeck as a 3rd striked but I'm not sure. If I did I'm getting rid of him and staying away from Man U strikers because it'll be impossible to stay on top of.

For being man united, man united's midfield sucks pretty hard. Not a single world class player in the bunch. Kagawa maybe could be and nani is on his day, but still, for being man u, their midfield is awful.

My guess is that, when Landon Donovan or Clint Dempsey retire, ESPN throws a truckload of money at one of them to replace Lalas.

I think Alexi Lalas is one of the few Rutgers grads that I don't like. It doesn't happen often.

Dempsey is far too thug. Landon is too laid back/a little awkward/a strange person in general. Not saying espn won't do it; they will be terrible though. They should offer Roberto Martinez whatever the hell he wants; damn does that man kill the analyst role.

He was so excellent during the last World Cup. I learned a lot just listening to him.

The problem is that they seem to want an American doing something on the broadcast, even if they don't need one.
Actually, Tim Howard would make some sense, too.
