Schurrle to Chelsea. Jose normally likes to play with an out-and-out striker and I thought Schurrle was more of a winger/forward. It could be as more competition for Oscar/Mata/Hazard, which would make more sense. They still need a defensive midfielder and a striker.

Wait, are you saying 3 goals in 6 games and 0 in 3 at Azteca isn't good? And the best part? 3 of those games so far have been against the bottom 2 teams.

Mexico is just doing their best to tie their way into the Cup. It's a bold strategy Cotton, let's see if it pays off for them...

You laugh Rosie, but next time around watch out. We'll be hitting the ground running with our talent.

Jonathan DeGuzman, Teal Bunbury, Sydney Leroux, Asmir Begovic, & Junior Hoilett, how can you handle that plus the rest of our all stars? You can't.

Yeah, I'm a Schurrle fan, but I'm not sure he meets any of Chelsea's needs right now. They need a clinical finisher like Cavani. I'm sure they aren't done (there was talk of Roman giving Jose a HUGE bankroll if he came back), but still.

You can't even get to the Hex! Jamaica did it with the worst coach to ever been in charge of an international team. Now we just need to replace everyone above him, bring in John Barnes, start recruiting more British Jamaicans and then we'll be in Russia for 2018! #JamaicaOnTour

Is this your future team. Won't Ricketts be like 65 at that point?

It would, I seriously hope it happens. I want Mexico to just tie their way out of the Cup.

But realistically there's no way they don't finish top 4. Panama has too hard of a schedule left to make any moves. I'm just hoping Mexico only wins 1-2 more games and gets stuck in the play in game. Really the only game they have left that they will be definitely favored in is Panama at Azteca, where apparently the US win last year has cursed them from ever scoring another goal there again.

Schurrle fits in because you can't play the tres amigos in every game and Ramires is the only other player they have capable of playing in the attacking band who doesn't suck, and he's a defensive winger when you play him there.

They still need a striker and a central midfielder, but Schurrle actually makes sense, unlike Marin's transfer which still makes me giggle.

I know no one cares, but I have to tell this story of what just happened in my Football Manager game, because it was awesome.

It's 2017 and I'm Chelsea. I won the EPL and Champions League last season after picking up a grand total of zero trophies in the years before. This season though, Arsenal is a powerhouse with Wilshere becoming a super stud, the addition of Luis Suarez, Christian Eriksen, Lorenzo Crisetig, etc. They ran away with the Premier League title this year as I fight for the 2nd spot against Man City.

So we get to the semis of the Champions League and I get matched up against Arsenal. Not only are they amazing this year, but they're the one squad I've had real trouble with throughout this entire dynasty, as I just can't seem to get results against them no matter what. The first match comes and goes and they beat me 2-0 at their crib. I'm resigned to the fact that I'm about to be knocked out.

Now we come to the second leg. Oscar got me an early goal on a great feed from Hazard to put me up 1-0, but down 2-1 on aggregate. Then less than a minute into the second half, my best defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos picks up his 2nd yellow card of the night and I find myself down a man against the best team in the EPL by far this year. Still, Rodrigo manages to score for me to make it 2-0 and tie up the overall score 2-2 in the 59th minute. I'm not too enthused though, because they have 30 minutes of a 11v10 advantage to work with.

Then my chances completely go down the drain when Cesar Azpilicueta is sent off as well after picking up two yellow cards. So now its 11v9 in Arsenal's favor and they have 25 minutes to work with it. Somethow I manage to hold them off as I finish the first 90 minutes up 2-0.

Extra time comes and they score 1 minute in. I'm crushed, because there's no way I can score two goals to make up the difference. Then Eden Hazard scored at the 112th minute. But I wouldn't be able to score AGAIN, down 11v9, within 8 minutes, right? Well, 118th minute, Rodrigo scores his 2nd goal of the night and I react like I just saw Texas beat USC in the 05/06 National Title game. I hold them off for the last two minutes and win on a 4-3 aggregate.

I love this game so much.

Is Football Manager just a simulation or do you also play the games?

Just a simulation.

I'd love it if there was something similar for the NFL.

Sim. If you're really into football, I can see you getting hooked. It can be a very, very deep game. You'll have control over basically everything. Neither Madden's nor NCAA's franchise/career modes compare to the depth. That being said, I'm far too impatient for sports games like that, I just want to quickly go out and play (sim) a match week-to-week.

Sounds amazing then but I feel like I'd be hooked and have time for nothing else.

Doesn't EA Sports make an NFL simulation game?

Head Coach? If so, I only played that a little, but it still doesn't compare. Basically, if you enjoy the matches themselves and in particular playing them, stick with FIFA. If you want to get as close to managing without actually doing so, play FM.

When games come around, you watch them being played. You have the option of watching the whole thing, extended highlights, just the goals, etc. I do the extended highlights and they take about 10 mins each.

I thought I was going to hate not being able to play them when I first learned of the game, but it's the complete opposite now. I absolutely love how it's done. There's just something awesome and stressful and rewarding about watching the squad that you put together, trained, and instruct mid-game try and topple the opposition as you sit there feeling helpless. It's almost like being a fan of a real team when the matches come around.

Regarding Cigaro's comment, I've put over 150 hours into the game so far and am only 4 seasons in, if that tells you anything about how deep it is.

Basically it's the OOTP of soccer. I'd love it but won't have that time.
