I know TMac was repping at 275 after a couple years in the league, so I dont think he was AS weak as Durant.

Never said he couldn't be very good, however, Mac is a top five player at his position in the league. Williams has a long ways to go before he reaches that level.

Is it time for the Durant groupies to realize Oden is the only option for the #1 pick?

Bench press isn't that important even for rebounding. First in foremost is technique which he has, next is wingspan and hops which he has both. Lower body strength is much more important than upper body. He is a perimeter player who will be posting on 3's so it's not a big deal, Tayshuan dropped for the same reason but it's not holding him back.

How is Durant's vertical only 26 inches? That is pathetic.

Who needs to jump when your arms are so long you can dunk without jumping.

Actually you were looking at his no step vert his real vert is 33, and in comparison to Durants 26, Mr. Freak athlete and rare specimen Julian Wright only had a 28 no step vert.

No step vert is sooo much smaller. I took a test like this and my no step was like 1/2 of my real vert. you get no power into it. and its not like this is never going to happen in a game.

There's an excellent article somewhere out there about how completely insignificant the NBA Combine is. For instance, JJ Redick's vert coming out was one inch less than Andre Iguodala's 34 inch vert when he came out. And TJ Ford tested out slower than Chris Kaman and Carmelo Anthony in footspeed tests. TJ Ford is one of the fastest players in basketball, if not the fastest. There's no way those two are faster than he is. Guys like Monta Ellis and Luol Deng test out poorly, but on the floor they really aren't bad athletes and they have success in the NBA. It's really pointless and insignificant, I wouldn't put much stock into anything that happens unless you have somebody who plays unathletic testing out as unathletic. There you might have something. But if people have less of an opinion of Durant after this, I think you have to be crazy.

Good for you. Oddly enough, I didn't see you winning the Player of the Year Awards last year along with 25/11/2. KMH referred to Kick Mike Hass, not kilometers/hr. Durant can play, doesn't matter what he benches. Start thinking before you talk

The NBA combine is as irrelevant as the Wonderlic for a DT in football. Most important measurements are height, wingspan, and body fat.

Does standing reach come into play as a fairly significant aspect as well?

A little as it applies to shot blocking and disrupting the passing lanes.

I figured more for a big man than anything else. Plus if you add somebody's vertical and their standing reach, that should be about how high they can get up, correct?

Standing reach also comes into play with reaching for steals and with on ball defense. (see AK47)

I don't ask questions anymore about why teams have certain picks. NBA GM's are so creative hahah.

Blazers don't have it because unless I'm wrong lottery only determines the top of the first round. The second round is always done by record, so the worst team has the first pick in the second and so on. That way Memphis, who had the worst record in the league, would have the first pick in the second. Since that pick was traded to Seattle the Sonics have it. Blazers have I'd guess the 7th pick in the second round because they had tied for the 6th worst record in the league but won the flip with Minn so Minn would get the 6th in the round.
