Portland is going to have an insane inside game with the addition of Oden. Could be the best frontcourt from a defensive and rebounding standpoint. Plus, both have massive offensive potential.

i hope the Nets trade out of this pick, unless someone falls to them. My dream is trade up for Horford, but that ain happening. In this case, with Crittendon and Young still there, i hope they trade down, get some more picks, and could get Smith later. I do like him there, as playing with Kidd can only improve him.

Not a bad Rockets' selection.

I doubt you get Smith later, right now he's in the 10-20 range.

Good, james was garbage for us last year and this can only help to unclog our backcourt. all this really means is more minutes for foye and mccants.

Mike James headed back to Rockets...
http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/2007/...or-mike-james/
The Minnesota Timberwolves and Houston Rockets, who have been discussing a Mike James-for-Juwan Howard swap in one form or another since the February trade deadline, have agreed in principle to finally complete that deal this month, ESPN.com has learned.

Marc Gasol in the late 1st? I don't see that happening; he's falling on all the draft boards.

the bulls are working out Mike Conley this saturday
http://chicagosports.chicagotribune....ulls-headlines
that's a bit surprising. I figured with the workouts of brewer, noah, hawes, yi, thorton that they were figuring to go at least big at any position.

They aren't you teams workout just about every single 1st round player, just in case say you trade down to pick 20 and Conley is there you must be prepared, or even if it just means to bring the guy in and impress him, so when he becomes a free agent down the road he will remember the facility and the organization. Just because a player is brought in for a workout does not mean they are leaning that way. You never know Kirk Hinrich could get in a motorcycle accident and be done for his career, it's better to be ready for something even if it never happens.

i know that just because you workout someone doesn't mean that are going to draft him, BUT there is little reason to call Hinrich "untradeable" before bring in a pure PG. that makes NO SENSE.

I'm sure they just want to weigh their options in case Conley slips to them at 9. Say Hawes, Horford, Wright, and Yi are all gone by the pick, what direction do you go in? If they trade Duhon they need a backup point guard, and maybe if you draft Conley, Hinrich becomes less untouchable in the future. That or maybe they're targeting a particular point guard but want to make it seem like they're targeting the position. If you only bring in one point for a workout, it makes it kind of obvious that you're interested in selecting them. At this point, I think that guy could be Crittenton, which would explain the workouts with Law and Conley. Plus if they're interested in a guy, working out other guys at the position puts into context how good he is right now and how well he can develop at the position. But back to Crittenton, I think he makes a lot of sense for the Bulls if the power forwards and Hawes are gone because they're looking to get bigger in the backcourt and if they trade Duhon Hinrich will need a backup. Crittenton brings nice size and the possibility of guarding a guy playing the 2, even though he can play the point on offense.

It's not what I think they should do, it's what I think they will do, or well what we think they'll do.

I think the C's might go for Thornton over Brewer, Danny Ainge said he thinks Thornton might be the second best offensive player in this draft. Considering Durant is the clearcut number one, that's pretty high praise, and I don't know if you pass on a guy you think is that good at number 5.

Mike James' contract??? I don't believe you won on that trade. However, what this does do is allows you to trade Luther Head, as was discussed by your brass before the trade.

The contract isn't really an issue simply because we were chasing after James' LAST off-season and nearly had him but Minnesota offered him a bit more. Minnesota will be paying the trade kicker and it gives us a 3rd option and a spark off the bench. Good move. Not to mention Howard has a bad contract that we just got rid of as well.
