Well Splitter can contribute right away, problem is he probably won't ever get the shot this year, most people expect that whatever team drafts him will leave him overseas a year, right now he has a buyout, next year he is free to sign. He can help now however as he is very tough inside, so if the Nets would be willing to drop the dough in the buyout than he could have immediate help. Smith is a guy who could work off the bench but shouldn't start. He has a nice perimeter/mid range game on offense, but he is weak, can't rebound or finish inside.

Interesting to know but last year Raptors offered #1 for Ray Allen but were rejected.

Once the Nets get Vince Carter's signature on a four-year, $60 million contract, insiders say they'll investigate making a move for Portland's Zach Randolph. It's no surprise that they're leery of Randolph's off-court issues and the fact he has around $60 million left on his contract. But they've seen that Carter can only get them so far in the playoffs. Randolph's post presence would give them an attractive alternative, while his board work is something they definitely could use. To get him, they'd have to send a big package to the Blazers, starting with Richard Jefferson, whose development is being hindered by Carter's presence. New York Daily News

But VC would have to agree with this, but for him seems like he'd just be lost in the youth between Oden, Lamarcus, and Roy. Plus he would have playing the 3 and would have to take half less shots to let the youngins develop. If I were the Blazers I'd rather try to move Randolph for a guy like Rashard or Jamison. For the Nets good move if it goes through, although he has character issues he is a huge talent.

Agreed, I really thought VC could possibly stunt the growth of Roy, seeing that he really likes to dominate the ball. But if anything VC is a very good passer and can add that veteran leadership they really lack. But I'd say that Lewis would be a much better fit. As for the Nets, it would be decent pick up. I guess Kristic would have to move to the 5.

Looks like people in the Celtics front office are still pursuing Garnett, saying that his comments earlier this week was just a strategic move. For what or why I do not know. The core of package would include Al Jefferson and #5 pick, and other pieces of course.

Hasn't Splitter been in like the last three-four drafts until the last minute?

For Minnesota you have to take this, They aren't ever gonna get enough help for KG to get a title so time to rebuild around Al Jefferson. They most likely will get Al Jefferson, Yi Jianlian, Theo Ratliff, and either Rondo or Telfair.

Yeah but that was because he was told no teams would take that buyout, this year he's in for real, he wants to come now, but it depends on if his team wants to pay for the 1 year buyout. Though one more year for Tau Ceramica won't hurt playing with guys like Luis Scola, Zoran Planinic, and Pablo Prigoni.

ugggh Zoran Planinic, bad memories. He was the "heir apparant" to Kidd until the Nets found out he wasnt a good PG, than he was our great scorer at SG/SF, but he wasnt at all...

if the Nets trade RJ i will seriously become a fan of another team, probably the Hawks, or who ever picks Horford. The fact that RJ is in trade rumors disturbs me, but glad to see VC come back(if that rumor is true) maybe instead of trading a future star, Thorn could draft a decent big, his only sucess is Nenad...

They are trying desperately to move up rather it be for Noah or Brewer.

also with the two second round picks that the bulls have, do you think they could trade those two plus duhon for a mid first rounder?

24 and 29 isn't good enought to get 9 by themselves.

Are the rumors of Al Jefferson and/or Green plus the 1st rounder for Marion officially dead? I think this move would be highway robbery for the Suns. Green would fit their system perfectly and Al Jefferson is alreayd a top 10 big man IMO. Plus they could use the pick or Brewer, Yi, or Al Thornton all of which would thrive in that system.

You don't take it if you're Boston, though simply for the sake that KG might not even report to the team.

I think they pretty much are. If Danny Ainge makes that deal he's just a complete idiot. The 5th pick they don't value that much and trading it isn't a huge deal, but the C's should hold onto Green and see if he develops, and Big Al is as you said already a quality big. It seems like this is the time where they can go in a few directions, they can try and win right now (which is probably a mistake, since a combo like Marion and Pierce really won't take them that far IMO), take a guy that could step in now like Jeff Green and play and pull a do okay now and let guys develop, or go into rebuilding mode and draft Yi along with possibly dropping Pierce.

Fran Vazquez, the 11th overall pick in the 2005 NBA draft who rejected the Orlando Magic to stay in Spain, is reconsidering his decision.
"When this one [contract] finishes, I will like to see if I can play there [Orlando],'' Vazquez wrote in an exchange of e-mails with the Orlando Sentinel last week. "Sure, I will like to play in the NBA one day. I am a more mature player, and I have improved in some areas of my game. I know I can still improve a lot, but I am working on that every day.'' We wouldn't hold our breath here, but this is a 24-year-old with NBA skills. His current contract has two years remaining, so if you're seeking a 2009 sleeper, Vazquez could be your man.

Ha, I hate this man... Gerald Green was there for the taking...

KG is too classy of a player/man to not report to your team....whether or not he resigns is a whole different story.
