I like Durant but I think it's crazy to say he's more NBA-ready than Oden. Oden is about as NBA-ready as centers come. Durant is like Darius Miles coming into the NBA from an athletic standpoint.

I don't see how the Timberwolves are in the position to demand market value. Odom/Bynum/couple draft picks wouldn't be bad considering the situation they are in.

Trouble rebounding like how he out-rebounded Oden in a better conference? Look, Durant has a very similar frame to Kevin Garnett, and to me, a similar playing style. Durant is listed at 215 now, and Garnett is listed at 253. Ain't no way in hell KG is anything above 240. So you're saying Durant will never put on 25 lbs? Before this year, Durant had never even lifted weights before. Durant will be a better pro than Oden. He finds ways to score, he's got that killer instinct, he can pretty much do it all. Oden's offensive repertoire is very limited right now. What are you going to bank on first? Oden finding an offensive game or Durant finding a nearby buffet table and weight room?

Oden, from a fundamentals stand point, isn't NBA ready.

Durant is still 6'10 with a crazy wingspan. He can shoot over any 3 put on him, he can use his quickness to go around any 4 put on him. Hell, he can even post up some 3's. He's a mismatch, and has an entire offseason under a NBA weight training program. We'll see a noticeably stronger Durant next season.

Did you just call the Big 12 a better basketball conference than the Big Ten?

Ha that's funny. The only teams really worth a salt is Kansas and Texas. Ok State is hihgly inconsistent from year to year, Okie has been down, KSU hasn't been much recently, Texas A&M is not that good, Texas Tech is inconsistent from year to year...

Illinois is always good, Michigan State was down this year but they have a dynamite squad, Ohio State has become a CB power, IU is on the way back up (unfortunately), Purdue has been good recently, and Iowa is always solid.

You forgot about Wisconsin.......they were up there all year with Ohio State and they've been very good since Bo Ryan arrived

Uh sweetness? A & M was ranked #7 in the country. They were pretty damn good. The final top 25 had 3 teams from the Big 12 and 2 team from the Big 10. Texas beat Michigan State this year btw. Oklahoma State was pretty good this year. This year, yes, the Big 12 was better than the Big 10.

Texas A&M has not been a team thats been solid for 5+ years, they've just recently come on the scene and with the departure of Gillespie I think they'll drop into a school that will be a bubble team year in and year out

Ewing to coach beside Van Gundy?

Future Hall of Fame center Patrick Ewing, who finished a 17-year NBA playing career in Orlando, could be returning to the Magic next season as an assistant coach under Stan Van Gundy.

Wouldn't be a bad teacher for Dwight.

I'm talking about the NBA, not college. Also, I'm talking about being NBA ready. You guys need to read arguments. I never said anything about Durant never putting on weight or becoming a dominant player. I said, as of now, Oden is more NBA ready.

Being from Maryland and having friends who play for Montrose Christian I can assure you he has lifted. They have a pretty solid weight training program their for their athletic programs. If he claims he has never lifted he is either lying or it's because he was a lazy slacker and skipped out on practices.

Plus Durant was in Oak Hill for a year. I wouldn't believe for a second that they don't have a weight program.

i do think Durant will block many more shots than people think. He will be guarding smaller players than Oden will, i think he's like a Tayshawn Prince on D, long, lanky, athletic and can jump. Durant needs to just get more fundamental on D, and we all know he can score. Oden needs some moves other than turn and jam on the smaller college kid guarding him. If he wants to face Amare, Duncan, and even Shaq and Howard, hes gonna need some more finesse moves, and not rely on his plowing and dunking. i mean, even shaq developed a baby hook.

i may get ripped for this, but i feel Horford will be one of the best players out of this draft. He's not much of a scorer, but his rebounding is insane, and flat out can guard guys in the paint. He's athletic and can run with quicker PF's. He may end up being better than Oden if Oden doesnt improve his post scoring. I see Al in some way, kinda like Ben Wallace, without the shot blocking or afro...

Garnett was also rare in the fact that he was the hardest worker out there. Nobody is more intense than Garnett and nobody outworks him in practice. Plus, he has that killer instinct and competetiveness that NBA teams love.

Also, Garnett never achieved dominance until he bulked up a bit. I'm not saying Durant will be a bust or anything less than great, I'm just saying that Oden is clearly more NBA-ready.

The difference between 0 and 1 rep is very insignificant. It's just that 1 is prettier number.

Lol i don't think you'll get ripped for saying Horford is "one of the best players in the draft"... and I think ODen did pretty well against Horford and Noah with his unpolished plowing and dunking.

You would've gotten ripped if you said best. I hear this Noah guy has had a lot of interest shown in him from NJ, theyre looking to move up actually to take him. Something about trading RJ...

if the Nets trade up for Noah, i'd be like uggggh. the fact RJ is in any rumors makes me wanna hurl. now if the Nets traded RJ to get Noah, you should immediatly turn on a local NJ news station, and you may see me standing at the edge of a bridge...

or I'll just be a Kings fan, they have Douby :D

He averaged 2 blocks per game last year, pretty decent stuff. Basically, I think Oden becomes a 20/12/3 player, while Durant becomes something like a 26/11/1.5 player with a couple assists thrown in there. Can't go wrong with either, but I'll take Durant. As Bill Simmons said, he is the poster child for Tremendous Upside Potential as trademarked by Hubie Brown. You know what you're gonna get with Oden more or less, but you know Durant will be filthy. Question is, how filthy?

Weight or no weight, Durant is still a mismatch the instant he steps on the NBA court. He's unguardable, due to his height/wingspan and his perimeter oriented skills . So, because of that, I think he's more NBA ready than Oden because he's set to make an impact. My prediction for Durant's first year is somewhere around 18/6.

Oden will at least make an impact on the defensive end, but will most likely be incredibly foul prone. I see him being somewhere around 11/8.

How is Durant unguardable? That is completely ridiculous. He will have little to no inside game as a rookie in the NBA.
