KD isn't a very good defender, an LeBron is nearly Howard's size. He goes right into Dwight and he will get the call every time. Refs reward slashers who play under control.
Realistically, there is no way to stop LeBron James. The only thing that can slow him down is shot selection. Like most young guys, he falls in love with the jumper(while vastly improved, is his weak spot on offense).

Redick and the lack of girth in the post would cost them a title.

Yup, that's why he struggles with smaller defenders who can stay in front of him. He stops trying to drive and settles for stupid jumpers. That's exactly what Ray Allen did (with a lot of help defense, of course) in the second round of the playoffs. I keep saying that he needs to develop a post game to back down smaller guards that are able to use their quickness to contain him and cut him off.

How would Redick cost them? He'd be the fourth option at best on offense, and it's not like Luol Deng can defend any better than Redick can, at least JJ can hit 3pters.
I'm not sure who would make them pay for their "lack of girth". I really don't think the Lakers can repeat, hell i don't think they'll make the finals again.

Deng's a pretty decent defender, and so is Redick. Redick needs to be a 25 MPG guy. He's going to play 30+ in that scenario as the depth behind is going to be pretty thin.

LBJ can get by any player in the league...if he wants to. He's become more of a diva superstar as he's gotten better and better, where he feels he can do it any way he wants to.(Kobe is exactly the same way. Kobe hasn't lost much if any athleticism from his prime years(only a year or two ago). He just feels he can jack it up and still make it instead of getting a better shot.

To be fair to Kobe, there was no way he could get the easy buckets he usually has. The Celtics had the best help defense in the NBA last season, and probably one of the better defensive performances in the playoffs that i can remember. All their bigs did a tremendous job helping out Ray and Tony Allen against Kobe, which is why they were allowed to play him so tightly. If Tony Allen played Kobe the way he did with any other team behind him, he'd get a bused for 40pts and he'd foul out.

He's still got the athletecism in spurts, but his legs can't do it for four quarters consistently, let alone for four quarters every night through an 82 game season. There were times this season when I saw him barely able to get up high enough for a dunk. He has to expound way more energy to get to the basket than he used to. Whereas he used to get by on straight quickness and explosion, he has to set guys up now with good angles and really impressive ball-handling in traffic.

Don't know if it's already posted, but I didn't find it.
Yi Jianlian traded to Wizards for Quinton Ross.

Don't know about Quinton Ross, but I'd like to see how Wiz fans feel about Yi and how he fits with them.

That looks like a team specifically designed to suck against the Lakers. That frontcourt would get eaten alive.

Eh, idk. Noah isn't bad by any means defensively, so he would at least be competent against Gasol. Plus, that Bulls lineup would pretty much get any and every rebound they wanted vs. the Lakers. Would Kobe guard Lebron? Or would Artest guard Lebron and Kobe switch to Rose? Who would guard Bosh?
I think it would be a pretty interesting matchup. But I don't see how the Lakers would get any rebounds haha.

Well he did shoot it poorly in last year's conference finals in most of the games. But like you said he got to the line a lot.

Here's my concern against Bosh. To me he seems like more of a face to the basket kind of player.
That's not a bad style by any means but a strong post up game I think would be more apt to make a title run.
Also: That's another reason why the Clippers aren't that bad a fit for Lebron. They have a superior post game. Straight power with Blake Griffin, as well as both shooters and slashers.

Ross is a good (used to be borderline elite) perimeter defender with no other skills.

Has Blake Griffin even played enough to know what he brings to the table? Or if he'll be the same caliber player after the injury?

I don't mind the trade at all. Obviously we weren't going to spend any money this offseason so no harm in getting Yi's 1 year deal. Anyways with Blatche breaking his foot there might actually be playing time for Yi. I'm not gonna act like he's good or anything but we did have James Singleton starting for us last year at times and as much as Yi is bashed he does have some skills. John Wall will just open things up a lot. We'd still get abused defensively but it's not like we weren't going to anyways. We will have huge cap room next summer especially if Arenas is moved before then. Obviously this is just for the cap room for the Nets as Ross is just a throw in. He sucks. Don't know about this elite defender talk. He's pretty useless. Almost every scrub we had last year impressed at some point from James Singleton to Cartier Martin, yet Ross managed to suck every game.

STRIP, why do you keep having hope that Arenas will be moved? Who in the hell will be stupid enough to take on his horrific contract, especially when they're working on changing the CBA to make sure there isn't any more Arenas-esque contracts out there?

Because there are some equally bad contracts on a lot less talented player. Arenas will immediately become a decent trade asset should he return to form as he's expected to. Why wouldn't a team like the Bobcats take on Arenas in exchange for 2 equally bad contracts in Diaw and Diop.
