Pau Gasol is a lowkey mastermind. He probably has the highest basketball IQ in the league, IMO

Yeah, he's the type of guy who probably would have gone onto being a doctor or a lawyer or something if he wasn't taller than a building.

Scottie Reynolds with 16 points on 4-6 shooting from the field with 3 dimes and 2 boards in 22 minutes in his debut for the Suns in Summer League against the D-League All-Stars <3
(I know it's just Summer League, but I gotta rep the dude, nice debut)

From the highlights I've seen recently, Caracter has some impressive post moves and Ebanks is very versatile.
Those Ebanks-Ariza comparisons are spot on. But Ebanks appears to be slightly better offensively, he's doing things Ariza never did.
Also, I think Caracter could provide some minutes in a Big Baby-esque role as a rookie, he's just dominating opponents. And we need another big man to spell Bynum and Gasol at C.

He's going to become a doctor though, he's said it a couple times, I think. He even enrolled into medical school prior to becoming a professional basketball player.
Per Wiki:
"He enrolled in medical school at the University of Barcelona,[42] but left as his basketball career at FC Barcelona advanced.[40] He remains strongly interested in medicine. Gasol regularly visits Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles, a standard stop for athletes making charitable visits in the L.A. area, but does not limit his business to visiting young patients. On one visit, he asked a group of doctors well-informed questions about their treatment of children with scoliosis. In April 2010, Gasol was scheduled to sit in on a spinal surgery, wearing surgical scrubs, with Dr. David Skaggs, the hospital's chief of orthopedic surgery. Skaggs has said, "We talk to him now almost like he is a surgical colleague."[42]"

Bobcats (or more specifically, Michael Jordan) backed out of the trade with Toronto.
Trade is canceled.

It definitely does. Chandler is 10000xxxxxxxx Marvin Williams as our starting SF, and Okafor would be nice to have off the bench to be an extra defensive body. I don't mind his contract because after the JJ signing we aren't FA players any time soon. It does suck losing Crawford since he is the best bench player in the NBA, but he is an expiring and I really don't feel like re-signing him to a 5 year/55 mil deal like I feel the Hawks would. Jordan Crawford could take that 6th man role.

Moves Josh Smith to SF, Horford to PF, Okafor to C. Gives them two big bodies to bang in the post (Horford/Okafor), increases their defensive presence and rebounds, increases their bench depth with Chandler/Wright.
STRIP would know more since he knows a good deal bout the Hawks.

Josh Smith at SF would be pretty bad. I know he came to the league as a wing but Smith is a PF through and through. He's 6-9" 240" his strengths are rebounding, shot blocking, passing out of the paint, and using his post quickness against bigs. His weaknesses are ball handling, perimeter shooting, and perimeter foot speed. He's no SF. Okafor would come off the bench which is completely fine since Josh and Horford love getting in foul trouble. If they pulled that trade off all the Hawks would need is a PG to be legit. TBH there are only 3 or 4 teams who own the Hawks interior and that's because they have guys like Dwight Howard, Bynum/Gasol, etc. Josh Smith has always shut down guys like Garnett and Bosh.

There are PG's on the market that you could trade for if a trade like that is pulled off.
With the Hawks being that good on the interior then adding Okafor only increases the strength of it which is really what's needed in the East now.

Al Jefferson to Utah for the Boozer trade exception, Memphis' first round pick from the Ronnie Brewer trade, and another future first.

Winning a championship doesn't change anything. He looked "better" against Boston not because he actually got tougher, but bc Garnett was washed the hell up.
You can still slap that pansy around. Don't even deny it. He's skilled, but that doesn't mean he's not a pansy.

I'll take him being a pansy if it means MOAR rings!
The best big man in the league is pansy.
and you are mistaken my friend. The level of physicality in his game has definitely elevated. Its not saying much but it has lol

Pau Gasol is the most skilled big man in the league, but he will get abused every now and then by Dwight and the other physical bigs. He's slightly tougher than he was when he joined the Lakers, but some people make him out to be very tough, like tough-acting-Tinactin, which he's not.
Also, and this might sound like a noobish question or whatever, but why are trade exceptions so great to have? I know they're useful for trading and filling up value, but are they useful for anything else?
