NO's is bleeding for cash. They don't want players, they want to dump Paul's contract.

Chris Paul for Eddie Curry and Gallo makes perfect sense for them. They won't get a better offer for what they're looking for.

No, they want to package Paul's contract with Okafor's and/or Posey's, and they aren't looking to just dump Paul. That trade is not going to happen, and it is a pitiful deal.

76ers get a SG and a huge expirer in Redd, who in a year turn in over to Turner. And Bucks get a PF who if healthy can be a good 1-2 with Bogut. You also get Green who can backup Salmons on a one year deal. Reason I picked them is I don't know much abuot Ilyasova and if he is their "future" but I would think a starting 5 of Jennings/Salmons/Mbah a Moute/(healthy)Brand/Bogut can get in the playoffs no question.

Thoughts?
that would be an awful trade for Milwaukee...they have plenty of depth as is and the only way they move Redd would be for an upgrade somewhere (and of course that team would be looking to clear cap space)

Jennings/Dooling
Salmons/CDR
Maggette/Mbah a Moute/Delfino
Gooden/Ilysova/Brockman
Bogut/Sanders

They don't want players, they want money. Not every team in the NBA tries to win. Thats just how it is.

Vujacic is an expiring, but a small one, 5 mil.

And I know the deal will never happen. It's just that some Lakers fans (myself included) became spoiled after the Gasol trade and naively believe things like these are still remotely possible.

If only David Kahn were the Hornets' GM...

I guess time will tell. I've heard that line before, I'm not buying it until they prove it by either keeping him or trading him for players with lengthy contracts.

I'm pulling for the Knicks. Chris Paul and Amare Stoudamire, in that system, would be electric.

Yeah, bce's conspiracy theories are much more accurate in describing the NBA and MLB than the NFL. The national TV contracts are what creates the parity in the NFL. That alone covers their costs for player salaries, so anything they make on top of that is really just icing on the cake. MLB and NBA teams don't have national TV deals, they make deals with local markets. It's why market size matters so much in those sports, and why some teams will never be able to be competitive.

I think Orlando could throw in some draft picks too. Gets rid of all of NOR's big contracts and Nelson, Bass, Gortat isn't a chump package.

I think that would be the best deal for them, as getting rid of the two horrendous contracts is nice.

So...what if the C's trade Rondo, Sheed, Perk & Picks for Paul, then Rondo is flipped to ATL for Crawford and picks? How does that sound? Best deal possible?

Boston does it because they lack consistent offense from their older players.

Because he doesn't think the C's can put something like that together. He just wants to go somewhere to win. He'd win in Boston...a lot.

I dont see why the Celtics would do it either.

I think Orlando could throw in some draft picks too. Gets rid of all of NOR's big contracts and Nelson, Bass, Gortat isn't a chump package.
The best deals the Hornets could get are (not in any specific order):

1. The one you just posted. It's a win/win for both teams. New Orleans gets a legit, young center in Gortat, a huge expiring contract in VC, a young PF that would be great depth behind David West, and a veteran PG behind Collison.

2. The Charlotte Bobcats offer I posted where Charlotte gets CP3 and four trade exceptions for Erick Dampier's expiring, Gerald Henderson, D.J. Augustin, and Gerald Wallace

3. Knicks - CP3 for Eddy Curry, Danilo Gallinari, Anthony Randolph, and Raymond Felton. Randolph is tossed in. The core of the trade if I were GM would have to be Curry, Gallo, and Felton along with someone else.

4. Rondo, Perkins, Sheed's ghost, No. 1 + 3m for CP3 + Okafor. Bill Simmons trade and it's a good one, however, why trade for Rondo when the Hornets have Collison waiting to take over as starting PG? Sheed has a waivable contract which is great and clears immediate cap room but that trade doesn't do a whole lot for the team. Unless they would turn around and try to trade Collison, which is possible.

5. Any trades for Emeka Okafor and/or James Posey where some talent/expiring contracts are exchanged. The one D-Unit mentioned a couple pages back I like especially coupled with a trade for CP3 to another team.

Hornets get:
Vince Carter $17M expiring
Brandon Bass $4M per year
Marcin Gortat $6.3M per year
Total: $27.3M

Magic get:
Emeka Okafor $11.5M per year
James Posey $6.5M per year
David West $8.3M per year
Total: $26.3M

Charlotte receives:
Chris Paul

New Orleans receives
Erik Dampier ($13 mil expiring)
Gerald Wallace
Gerald Henderson
D.J. Augustin

For instance. IF that trade were to happen it would save the franchise over $50 million in expiring deals.

Say what you want about the team wanting to just dump Chris Paul's contract but that shows you don't know what the team is trying to do. That's the reason they haven't pulled the trigger on any of the offered trade proposals. They have repeatedly stated that they want talent/prospects/expiring deals in return. They don't want a straight salary dump since if they did that then they would have even fewer people in attendance than they already do.
I have all the faith in the world in Collison but he does need a legit PG to back him up which is why a trade with the NYK is feasible since they could get Felton, who is available for trade on December 15. I don't know about Jameer Nelson due to his semi-large and lengthy contract. Due to assets in terms of players/picks/cash the best teams for a trade are the Knicks, the Magic, Bobcats (not a contender but they want CP3), and that's about it. I don't see the Lakers as viable contenders in the Chris Paul sweepstakes.

Because you wouldn't have to guard their PG from the free throw line anymore.

I was thinking of passing and rebounds and defense and totally forgot that important part. Shooting.
