my friend went to vegas this past weekend and watched some summer league games. Him and his friends agreed that he's a little baby. They said he would miss a shot then commit a turnover then wouldn't stop pouting.

He'll be a good player but he's too emotional and immature right now.

What do Magic and Lakers fans feel about this?

There is also then one not involving Pietrus

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMa...radeId=25mxkbm

and one where the Hornets get the max number of expiring deals while shipping Paul, Okafor, and Posey + trade exceptions

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMa...radeId=23jnag9
The one without Pietrus is laughable. Why would Orlando only want Songaila, Okafor and Posey? Pure crap contracts, with no reward. At least give us Collison if you won't give us Paul.

The one with Orlando getting Okafor, Posey and West... Yeah, I guess I would be happy with that.

PG Jameer Nelson / Chris Duhon
SG Quentin Richardson / JJ Redick
SF Rashard Lewis / James Posey / Stanley Robinson
PF David West / Ryan Anderson
C Dwight Howard / Emeka Okafor / Daniel Orton

I like the depth, the defense, the offense is balanced... this is a team that would have to win as a team. Not on the back of a star "go to guy".

I like the Lakers signing Matt Barnes. They will need him in a finals against Miami. They can put a rotation of Artest/Barnes at LeBron James and at least make him work for his points.

I am happy that Barnes landed with a good team. He was put in a role that was too much for him to handle in Orlando and still did a good to decent job. I liked his scrappy attitude and desire to take on a challenge.

EDIT: Can't believe he turned down almost double that offered by the Cavs.

They also signed Theo Ratliff.

I hope that doesn't get in the way of Derrick Caracter getting playing time.
Probably realized Cleveland sucks and their owner is a douche bag and wanted to win.

I am not going to enjoy not being able to refer to Theo Ratliff by his proper name, "Theo Ratliff's Expiring Contract".

How's this diab?

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMa...radeId=26b9ryq

Magic get: Chris Paul, Emeka Okafor, Brandon Rush
- Magic pair Paul with Howard, get a defender who isn't a ball hog in the post in Okafor and a young SG with some potential.

Hornets gets: Danny Granger, Vince Carter (exp), Brandon Bass, Marcin Gortat, Jeff Foster (exp)
- Hornets get rid of all their bad contracts, get a stud in Granger and solid building pieces that are young, yet experienced. Collison, Thorton, Granger...and a boatload of cash... now there's a nice start.

Pacers get: Jameer Nelson, David West, James Posey
- None of these incoming contracts last beyond 2 years which is in sync with every player on the Indiana roster... yet Nelson and West are keeper worthy. Indiana has been desperately trying to improve their PG position and have shopped Granger.

So... put Bill Walton, Sam Bowie, and Greg Oden on the same club (all players in their physical prime). Do whatever you can to ensure they remain healthy, even if you have to make them all average 16+ MPG to do it.

The question is, can anyone in that trio survive a regular season without their legs breaking?

When you can get a point guard with his ability you take it if you can get it, Phil is smart enough to tweak some stuff here and there to get the most of his ability.

Ya, I don't understand why Boston didn't pursue him. He's the James Posey-type player they've been missing since 2008. And with Tony Allen gone, they needed a defensive specialist.

Doesn't make a ton of sense for Indiana. One of the reasons they might consider dealing Granger is because they have Rush and Paul George, and Granger is the only major contract they have past this season. I don't like Jameer on that team. He's too similar to the PGs that have failed there previously.

I know the Hornets would be happy to get rid of Okafor's contract, but Granger's is bigger and longer than Paul's, and he's less of a draw. They probably more than make up for Okafor's contract by having Chris Paul putting butts in seats and selling merch compared to having Danny Granger.

Give me Pietrus at SG over the clown from Duke in reality Pietrus can start and Reddick can easily be 6th man. Pietrus defensively is nasty and it was maybe 2 years ago where he had a great defensive game against Lebron in the playoffs. His shot is pretty smooth too so I mean I would start him but thats just me but JJ would get time he has progressed.

False. Hasheem Thabeet doesn't know what "basketball" really is.

From what I have read the Knicks offer to the Hornets is this: anyone but Amare you can have.

We will see if that is enough.

If I am the Knicks I give up 2011 first and 2012 first, and then clean house if you want..Bill Walker,Randolph, Azubukie and either Gallo or Chandler. I would hate to see Felton traded after signing with them.

Can they even trade Felton or Randolph? What are the NBA rules about trading recently signed/traded for players?

They can't trade newly signed players for 5 months unless they have bird rights or something like that I guess.

If I were the Knicks I would do whatever it takes. Even if you clean house, any team with Paul and Stoudamire would be a force in the East; they would be just behind the elite three or four teams.

I'd do that immediately. Sure, Granger's contract is big but you have Foster, Carter, Peja, and Songaila who all expire next year. We'd have solid starters at most of the positions and be able to build.
