Trading Felton as part of a S&T for Melo would be the plan is my guess. Would they be trying to run an old school Suns offense with dual point guards? Ainge/KJ, KJ/Kidd...

Doubt the Nuggets would want any part of that with Billups and Lawson already running the point

Hornets really not willing to trade Paul anymore, or just trying to up the ante from prospective teams? My guess is the latter because it doesn't make sense to piss off Paul more so that there's 0% chance he resigns. Unless they are just waiting to deal him once the season starts and teams want to offer more because they are desperate. Idk.

I think they are ignoring phone calls to show that they are serious about winning to Paul. They had a scheduled meeting today so it's only smart for them to ignore calls as a message of their desire to keep him. He is expected to formally request a trade at the meeting.

Apparently the Magic are not and will not take on Emeka Okafor's contract. So consider Orlando out of the sweepstakes.

thoughts on this one???
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMa...radeId=33rmzx9
Orlando gets Paul, only asked to take on one ugly contract
Hornets get big cap relief, would receive pick(s) from Indiana
Pacers get much needed point guard
Cleveland doesn't have much flexibility and add big man without giving up too much

I know the Knicks probably won't want to take on Okafor's contract, but if it means getting Paul I think we should. Paul and Stoudemire would be dynamic, and Okafor while having his shortcomings, fills a void at Center for us with defense, rebounds and blocking shots. You need a guy like that next to Stoudemire anyway.
And besides, why wait and gamble on MAYBE getting Melo? I doubt he comes here, not with that 65 mill sitting on the table. Get Paul if you can, stop waiting and hoping for other ppl to join. Make a move.

Meh. That was a given to begin with, and the Hornets probably wouldnt want Nelson and Orlando would have to move him. So, if Orlando attempts to get Paul, it will probably be through a 3 way deal.
I still dont think he's going anywhere, though.

Rarely do teams acquire 5 guys in one trade...you guys are all adding too many players. But anyway...it makes no sense for the Cavs.
And you have the Pacers acquiring Nelson for just Jeff Foster. No chance in hell. haha.

I think people sometimes underestimate Emeka Okafor. He's not a bad player, he's only got a bad contract. Not saying anyone here does it, but I've heard friends and some amateur NBA analysts saying stuff like that.
I mean, sure, he hasn't lived up to the hype of being a #2 overall pick, but he's not a total failure like Darko Milicic or something.

Who? Posey and Villanueva? Those two combined aren't as much as Okafor.

He is a solid C in the league. He will give you 10-10-1.5 and solid post defense. At that contract though, there is no way I would want to burden my franchise with that abomination. If I am the Knicks I roll the dice with Felton and Randolph and try and get Tony Parker next year instead. Knicks fans, of all people, should know the folly of loading up on bad contracts.

You edited it...it was Emeka and CV, which would be pretty damn impossible to take on. They dont even want Emeka alone.

I don't even see how Okafor would fit in in Orlando. 4 years, 52 million for a back-up to Dwight Howard? More defense, rebounding and no point production at Center? It isn't exactly what they need.
