For the 800th time, the Pistons are not trading Charlie V and Tayshaun's valuable expiring just to take on an even worse contract.

Okafor can play the PF position. And at that price, he'd have to, with Lewis moving back to SF. But it wont happen regardless, they cant take on that contract. It's just too much.

Yeah, I think if the deal were to happen it would have to be a multi-team trade. If you had Okafor at PF though, that would be redundant for Orlando. He doesn't give them anything they don't already have. And they would slow the game down (big lineup!) to a crawl and negate the benefits of even having Chris Paul.

We'd have to trade Okafor's deal to get the room for Melo, if it were AR and Chandler instead of Gallo I wouldn't mind. Amare, Gallo and Paul would be dirty and although they may not win multiple titles they would be good enough to make a couple finals and maybe win one, which would be enough for me. Then around the deadline we could move Felton for young players/picks and an expiring and package those with Okafor for however much more space we need either right there at the deadline or during the draft.

Then they have no business being in the discussion for Paul. If anyone is taking Paul, they should absolutely have to take Okafor's contract.

I think the Knicks need to calm down and wait out for next year to make a big move. I think the team they got will make the playoffs. I like the pieces that gotten together: Felton is solid, Gallinari is very promising, Randolph is a beast when healthy and Amare Stoudamire is the best offensive PF in the game. Wait it out for Carmelo, Parker, etc. Just be patient. Trying to trade for name players, taking on bad contracts is a road you do not want to go down.

Multi team trade. FTW. A 3rd team could end up netting Nelson and Okafor, if they so chose. You just need to find a team that is actually willing to take on Okafor's contract. And a need for a PG doesnt hurt either, obviously. haha. This is where Larry Bird's dumb ass comes in.

Sitting and waiting to make the smart move isn't the way the Knicks usually role though.

On the plus side for Knicks fans, at least now it seems like they are looking to bring in talent in addition to terrible contracts, instead of just terrible contracts. Still not the best game plan, but baby steps...

I agree completely. But by that same token I love me some chris paul and if he forces a trade this summer I'd like us to be the team reaping the benefits. Ideally he'd stay at least until the deadline this year, if not waiting until next year.

What terrible contract have we brought in? Signing Felton for only two years? Not paying DLee and instead raping the Warriors? Where are these terrible contracts we have added since Isiah got his ass fired? Now Isiah and Layden where awful awful execs, but they're gone now and Donnie Walsh has been doing a wonderful job rebuilding this team.

Nobody wants to take on that contract just to have the opportunity to have Jameer Nelson.

In response to the deal that a 3rd team needs to be involved... That's why the Atlanta trade works out. They need an upgrade at PG over Bibby and STRIP has stated that he doesn't mind taking on Okafor's contract since it gives them depth at PF/C.

There are plenty of teams that need a PG and C that I'm sure wouldn't mind taking on Okafor's contract if they feel it would make them better.

Curry is just fine playing off the ball. Monta is the one who needs it to get his stats more than Curry. And he was 7th in steals last year, so he is more than adequate defensively.

Yes, by virtue of having one be Monta Ellis, Vlad's being expiring and Biedrins looking like Dolph Lundgren.

Don't check box scores. He got owned by every above average PG. Like i said earlier in this thread, the Warrior's system is to create as many possessions as possible. If healthy, the Warriors theoretically should lead the league in steals and blocks. Too bad it never works in reality :P

Trading Beans at this point is worthless. He wasn't healthy last year and stunk it up. If his back is good, he's a double double guy. 9m is overpaid, but it's not too bad for what he gives.

Monta for 11 is a steal.

Okafor is barely a center anyway, and I really doubt anyone would take that contract unless they get Paul as well.
