Pacers lineup:

PG: Jameer Nelson / A.J. Price
SG: Brandon Rush / Dahntay Jones
SF: Mike Dunleavy / Paul George / Julian Wright
PF: Troy Murphy / Brandon Bass / Josh McRoberts / Tyler Hansborough
C: Emeka Okafor / Jeff Foster / Solomon Jones

Oh, and Monta does not need the ball to get stats. He can and will defer. He did so to Mag when he was here, although Mag was a cancer on the court. He plays incredibly efficient off the ball and with an elite play maker next to him his scoring and more importantly the efficiency will go through the roof.

That lineup has no great scorers and that backcourt outside of Dahntay is going to get burned.

Lance Stephenson is going to be a stud though.

Don't try to defend the trade for the Pacers.

Monta and efficient do not belong in the same sentence.

In response to the deal that a 3rd team needs to be involved... That's why the Atlanta trade works out. They need an upgrade at PG over Bibby and STRIP has stated that he doesn't mind taking on Okafor's contract since it gives them depth at PF/C.
Trading Granger would be unnecessary and they wouldnt get fair value back. The one I proposed earlier...would make more sense for them. The only problem with that one, is that New Orleans isnt getting enough "keeper" talent back. Just Gortat, but they'd clear $26 million in cap space and potentially get a pick from the Pacers.

Magic get:

PG Chris Paul
SF Mike Dunleavy (expiring) or Jeff Foster and Brandon Rush (expirings)

Hornets get:

PG T.J. Ford (Expiring)
SG Vince Carter (Expiring)
C Marcin Gortat
Pacers 1st round pick

Pacers get:

PG Jameer Nelson
C Emeka Okafor
PF Ryan Anderson

Maybe Anderson can head to New Orleans, instead.

They don't?

Monta playing off the ball scored 20 on 53% shooting. Shot 60% for a month that season. Do it all Monta with D-Leaguers and overrated rookies is inefficient because he had to be.

Monta Ellis USG%: 29.4
Stephen Curry USG%: 21.8

Ellis jacked up 22 shots a game last year and Curry shot 14. Curry had a better percentage from everywhere on the court, yet he can't play off the ball? SMDH!

Curry with D Leaguers was a top 10 player in the league, so yeah... they are better without Ellis and his moped.

Well yes and no. Personally I think Okafor is a more natural PF so he's a fit for the T-wolves in the sense that it appears they are filling their entire roster with only 4s and 1s. But from a real NBA team standpoint, nah.

In fact, Monta's usage is deflated from that late season surge from Curry. trust me, Curry took very few contested shots and he likes to chuck it too. He shot a better percentage because he took easier shots. Maggette led our team in FG%...why? Because he played bowling ball basketball and only took easy shots. Monta was the only guy anyone could rely on to consistently make plays. He never got to play off the ball. BTW, Steph is not very useful at all without the ball in his hands(Neither is Chris Paul, so it's not an insult)

Why is he a natural 4? He's played 5 his entire career. He does everything a C should do, and he doesn't have the versatility or scoring ability a 4 should have. Just because he gets owned by good C's doesn't make him not one.

Wait it out for Carmelo, Parker, etc. Just be patient. Trying to trade for name players, taking on bad contracts is a road you do not want to go down.
I doubt Melo tests FA. That extension is too good to pass on.

Plus, do we really want Parker? He's declining, signing him to a long term deal will be a bad contract anyway.

We are an 8th seed type with our current team. Bring in Okafor and CP3, and I think we're a legit top 4 team in the East.

And I hate Gallo btw.

CP3 is the best PG in the game in my eyes, and teaming him up with Stoudemire is our best move we can realistically make. Then we can go after Caron Butler next year, and while that move won't be a wow move, I think a starting 5 that has CP3, Okafor, Stoudemire, and Butler would be pretty damn good.

And the Bobcats spent years trying to find a center to pair with Okafor, and would have done it if Larry Brown wasn't such a dumbass and pushed Augustin over Bropez so hard.

Like who? He's not quick or strong. He's just average. combo 4s dominate the league. How can he guard Dirk/Pau/Bosh?

Monta was the only guy anyone could rely on to consistently make plays. He never got to play off the ball. BTW, Steph is not very useful at all without the ball in his hands(Neither is Chris Paul, so it's not an insult)
so you'd prefer ellis, who shoots tougher shots than a dude who is in your words taking easy shots? I don't under stand your argument.

He doesn't take the tough shots because Monta had to. That's the point. When we give Monta away, and Curry's the focal point, his usage and scoring will go up and his efficiency will be out of the window because he's not quick enough to beat any decent PG off the dribble consistently.

I prefer Monta because he's the better scorer and defender. All Curry has on him is ball handling and deep shooting.

I know, I was talking about the past. I was just making a joke, like how I said now they are looking to bring in talent (Paul) with terrible contracts (Okafor), instead of just terrible contracts (Eddie Curry just as an example).

The Knicks are a lot better off in the front office now. I was just making a joke about how over the years they would jump to make take awful contracts/make awful offers, that it was "the Knick way" of doing business for a while. It is a lot better now.

the original discussion was who was better off the ball. Monta Ellis was a worse shooter and he had less of his points come off of a teammates pass. How is this even a discussion?

Curry's not better off the ball. In his one season, he didn't score as much or put up as high efficiency numbers as Monta playing off the ball. The point I was making is that Monta couldn't play off the ball because he had no one to play off of, and when he does get an elite play maker, he will repeat the elite efficiency he had.
