In the NBA you need star power. I don't think Milwaukee is there yet.

That'll allow the opposing team to collapse their defense and take away the effectiveness of the bigs inside and even force Derrick Rose to be a more reliable shooter from mid-range and out...

Atlanta is the same team from last year and throughout the course of a 82 game season you need to have depth and they just don't have it up front...

I dont think Chicago will top Orlando...now Atlanta...maybe. If Orlando takes a step back. Atlanta was a really good regular season team last season. And now Woodson is gone...which is a plus, imo. I dont think the Bucks will have a better record than them, even. I like the Bucks...but a 3 seed? I dont see that yet, at all. Especially with the East getting a little stronger around them. Bogut is also down, as always, and Maggette is coming off of surgery.

I agree, that team is going to have to win a ******** of ugly, low scoring games. It's still the Eastern Conference, though.

I think 50 wins is realistic for the Bulls, even without Boozer for the first month. Deng has been shooting a lot of 3s and he will improve in this offense, since it lets him move off the ball and get quick shots. Rose will probably see the same double teams he saw last year, so somebody needs to stretch the defense to take pressure off him, if Taj or Deng can do that. I expect the defense to get much better as the season progresses.
For the Bucks, Skiles did the same thing for them that he did for the Bulls in 04-05. He also has a lot of different people to work with this year. The Bucks do have more depth, which will help them in the regular season. Jennings will improve and they have better scorers now. I wouldn't be surprised if the two teams were neck and neck at the end with the team with one less injury winning the division.

They are a throwback team. Really solid on the glass and on defense, with one superstar scorer and a sick big man. With a healthy Bogut, they are a Manu away from being the 2003 Spurs. I believe Jennings and Bogut are that good, just need the 3rd piece.

and I don't get the Chicago hate. They brought in Kyle Korver to shoot, statistically the greatest shooter in NBA history. his 25 minutes a game he can stretch the floor for Rose.

I think Maggette is a good fit. We needed somebody who can consistently get to the line, and he gets to the line a ton. He gets loads of calls for whatever reason. We were second to last in free throw attempts last year. Hopefully we can get to the line more so we won't have to rely so heavily on the three, can sub more and use the depth that we ostensibly have, and limit fast break opportunities.

You need star power to win a championship. You don't need star power to have a strong season in a terrible conference. If Jennings doesn't get too carried away with the shot selection they have a solid team if Bogut stays healthy which is obviously a big if. Seems like it's that way for every decent big guy nowadays. They're very well coached and play good team basketball.

It's a shame they play in that shithole of a state or I'd be cheering for them this year. A rare likable good team in the NBA.

Bogut's so hugely under-rated. What he does to make that team legit is nuts. BJ is really talented and Maggette's a really good iso-volume scorer, but that offense still isn't very coherent and while they play good team D Bogut is the one who makes that whole thing run and IMO they'll end up somewhere between 5-6 and will push Chicago for that **** division all year long.

Must be nice to be Dwight Howard.

I like Milwaukee, but as yo mentions Brandon Jennings' shot selection and Andrew Bogut's health are two massive question marks that aren't going away. If things fall in place I could see them finishing ahead of Atlanta and Chicago (Boston if they age time bomb goes off), but not Orlando.

Rookie of the year: John Wall or Blake Griffin?

I think Griffin takes it. His stat lines have been out of this world so far.

13 points, 17 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals, 1 block vs. San Antonio
23 pionts, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, 1 block vs. Golden State
18 points, 13 rebounds, 1 block, 1 steal vs. Sacremento

He looks like Amare Stoudemire meets Tim Duncan out there. I love Wall as much as the next guy, but in a league of stretch forwards Griffin can dominate.

I'd still take Dallas and OKC before any other Eastern team not named the Heat.

Boston? 7 game series with both of those teams I go Boston.. yeah they are old but they have alot of things you need. Expierence, post presence, 3 ballers in Pierce and Allen and a PG who does it all.

ok, honest opinion here. what's everyone's opinions on the Nets? am I delusional to think that we could make a run at the 8 seed? I'm kind of excited...but then again, I was excited last year...

Of course they can contend. Teams 6-15 are all interchangeable. Wouldn't shock me if the 7th and 8th seeded teams are sub .500 teams. Kind of like when the Hawks made the playoffs a few years back with a 37-45 record. The Nets are like pretty much every eastern conference non contender team. They have young raw talent, a mix of some veteran talent, but no real team identity or takeover player. If Troy Murphy's injuries linger it will be bad for you as it isn't wise to throw in Favors to the Wolves right away. Guard rotation actually looks really good and I think T-will will beast it like I said he would coming out of college. Still think SF spot is a bit of a weakness even though you spent a crap ton on Outlaw who is a role player off the bench but shouldn't project to be much more. When Lopez is out of the game wouldn't mind going small with like Petro at center, Outlaw or Damion James at PF, and Twill at SF. I think Devin Harris could start feeling some pressure and losing minutes from Farmar if he doesn't play well off the bat.

Defntly have a chance. But improve the draft position cuz whoever is the 8 seed int the east will get their ass kicked by the 67-70 win Miami Heat. Yeah I said it, we could possibly win 70.

The West is still stronger from top to bottom than the East.
