God I pray we can move Arenas. Arenas has an extra year and 21 milion on Rashard's contract. Also Gilbert has been pretty bad as a PG but maybe if he plays SG on the Magic they will be better. Howard can definitely cover his back on defense.

Works for both teams. Lewis has been atrocious. At least Gilbert balls when he's on the court. Lewis just does nothing.

lolwut, so the Magic just got Gilbert Arenas, Hedo Turkoglu and Jason Richardson for basically, nothing. Wow. Good job Otis, at least you got rid of that abortion of a contract you gave Rashard Lewis.

Gilbert's contract is worse. Also unless he gets back to form Hedo has been horrific since he left the Magic. J-Rich is a major get though. Magic have a crap ton of scorers now but that front line looks a little thin.

So now we're looking at
Nelson/Duhon/Williams
Arenas/Redick
J Rich/Hedo/Q Rich
Bass/Anderson/Clark
Dwight/Orton
It sounds alright on paper, but I think you're almost depending on Hedo returning to his Orlando finals form. They're just kind of hedging their bets, by getting a bunch of aging dudes and hoping that at least one re-finds his game.
Is it just me or are they perilously thin in the front court now?

Well they pretty much just took a 21 million dollar risk on hoping that Arenas can start balling again. Even if he's just an 18ppg scorer, that's worth it considering they were paying Rashard's carcass just about the same amount.

Gilbert can definitely ball but don't expect him to be effective if he doesn't get to put put up at least 15-20 shots a game. I have a feeling he will frustrate Orlando fans a ton. He'll have flashes but for the most part he's a train wreck. His melt down with the officials last game I guess was the final straw. For Dwight's sake I hope he doesn't hang around Gilbert but it's inevitable since Gilbert comes off as such a fun loving guy, he's just weird though. I think it is a risk to get Gilbert. Rashard might not have made an impact but that at times can be better than Gilbert at his worst who hurts his team by being out there.
Just looking at his shooting the last 8 games:
1 for 10, 6 for 16, 6 for 13, 8 for 17, 6 for 17, 9 for 18, 5 for 15, 8 for 19. Also turns the ball over a ton.

Or is Arenas going to run point for them? With Redick starting?

Wait D? You want Turkoglu back. All of last year you were saying how much better of a call it was get Vince over Turk?
I am confused
Also...Can't believe two teams have already been unable to unload Turk's contract for not much.
The Magic just took on two absolute abortions of contracts(although they did get rid of one)

Another problem is that you have to make Nelson a backup. Gilbert needs to be playing point because he's not a spot up shooter and if you have him in Nelson together it's like the Wall and Arenas quandry again. Arenas simply can't defend 2 guards and Nelson is too short to. You can't put Arenas on the bench either because he's a lousy 6th man. He really has to be the point running the show to be effective.

Been preachin' that for years. Not sure what the rotation will be like, but Arenas will be playing point sometimes.

Vince hasn't been good for while now. When a guy fails to live up to expectations, it's normal to start to dislike him.

I hope people realize Arenas is really ******. Like really really really ******. Awful PG, and is a really horrid scorer from an efficeny stand point.
JRich could be a nice fit with the Magic though. And getting rid of Lewis was a plus even though the Magic took on a worst contract in Arenas + Hedo.

Arenas does not have a worse contract because he actually does things on the floor. Lewis has the worst contract in the NBA. Period.
Gilbert's game log. Baller.

I would have liked these moves way more if the Magic didn't trade Shard for Arenas. I kind of like the thought of giving it a go with a Hedo-Lewis-Dwight frontcourt just with way better depth, J-Rich and a healthy Nelson

He actually might be worse than Vince, if that's even possible.

Ya but Gilbert is a straight baller homie.
In all seriousness, no one is worse than Vince, but 3 years of Gilbert could perhaps be worse than half a year of Wince(but still probably not)

Gilbert's as fragile as Vince. Ever since the multiple knee surgeries he can't finish inside anymore. He's basically a streaky jump shooting PG now.

Put an inefficient scorer with reduced athletic ability on a team that emphasizes defense. At least that's someone who can create his own shot, but I'm not expecting this to end well.
