I'd like to see him lead his team into and partways through the playoffs first. Y'know, marking down the ol' checklist.

KD with a buzzer beating 3 all over Gallo's grizzill.

I would make that bet again and again and again. The Suns should have won that easily. NINE points in the 4th Q? lol
I know it didn't hit, but sometimes that happens. The Suns simply couldn't hit a ******* shot. Sometimes that's what happens. Sometimes games just come down to who makes shots - that simple. You really can't predict it - That's why it's gambling.... I won overall today so I'm not really that upset. EAST side of the shrine game, UCLA, UConn, Pacers... ya win some ya lose some.
And I had the Warriors -4.5 last night so if you saw THAT game you'd know that luck can work both ways... lol.

Gallo played one of his best games as a pro tonight. His defense overall was actually very good.
Sometimes it just comes down to which teams can make shots... *shrug*
Credit Durant, but 7th L in a row on a BB? Stings...
Maybe that one propels Walsh to start talking to Denver....

If the Clips can finish over or around 500 and make the playoffs, I think he has a great chance at it

^It's true. A REAL chance.
Rose shoots 30 a game and his team isn't dominant at all.
Amare is going to be the 6 seed only because the East is dreadful. He's probably the frontrunner but he's not a shoe-in on a .500ish team.
LBJ has to share.
Westbrook's closing the gap on Durant.
D-Will's team is bleh but he could step up down the stretch.
Kobe's not having a GREAT year.
There aren't any MVP candidates on BOS or SA.
Howard's been good I guess.
CP3 averages like 15 ppg.
Dirk maybe?
So yea, if they continue at this pace and sneak to an 8th spot he might really have a shot!

Amare should only be in consideration if the Knicks get a top 4 seed in the East(same with any other candidates in the East).

I would say Derrick Rose, LeBron James and Dwight Howard in that order.

Russell Westbrook has a pretty solid case.

Rose has shot the ball 25 times or more 11 games so far.
25% of games with 25+ FGA isn't bad. Add in the fact he's averaging 20 FGA/game. Yes, he's had some games where he's shot poorly and forced more shots than he should have, but people really need to stop exagerrating when talking about how many times Rose shoots a game...
Btw, Chicago's defense is dominating, to the tune of 93 ppg allowed and 42.5% FG against, good for 3rd best and best in the league respectively. Rose has averaged like 33 ppg with Noah and Boozer out. When you have 2 players averaging double figures in scoring (Rose at 24+ and Deng at 17.5) with no one else sniffing double figures, with 20 ppg and 15 ppg sitting on the bench, it's pretty hard to outscore everyone so that it looks "dominant".
Chicago has been winning because of Rose...the fact that they aren't dominating everyone is hardly his fault.

That's my point. If they were dominating because of Rose I'd have him #1 easy. The comment I made was meant to illustrate that if things continue as they are now, no one is running away with the award, opening the door for Griffin.
I'd put him right up there with Amare at this moment but my reasoning against his case was only to compare how special Griffin's season is turning out to be against everyone else by making an argument against each guy.

LaMarcus Aldridge deserves a lot more All-Star/MVP chatter than he's been getting. Since everyone on that team got hurt, he's basically carried the Blazers to a playoff position. He's on a 15 game 23/10 streak, he's averaging 26.9 ppg in January, and the Blazers are winning more often than they had been with Roy, Oden, Camby, Przybilla, etc.

oh look, the Nets playing competitive against a good team. Playing well. It's amazing what a difference makes when more than half the team isn't sure if they're gonna be a Net or Nugget the next morning.

Yeah Aldridge has been underrated slightly the past couple years, but I mean personally there is at least 10 guys at his position probably that I would rather have. He doesn't play the best of defense and used to be an average rebounder, which now he is a little better at. Scoring wise he can put up points from anywhere.

Aldridge has been a monster this year; but I think Rose is my mid season MVP.
Rookie of the year; obviously Blake Griffin, he could probably almost shut it down right now and still win it.
Defensive player of the year; probably either KG or Dwight. Kurt Thomas should get some consideration for this though, seriously.
6th Man; I'm going to kind of cheat and say Glen Davis, his most impressive performances came as a starter while KG was out, but I think he's going to keep playing at a high level.
Most Improved: Either Glen Davis or Derrick Rose but, I don't like when the same player wins multiple awards so Nick Young or Wes Matthews
Coach of the year: Tom Thibodeau, a lot of people would say Greg Popovich but I think it's Tom Thib, he's had to overcome injuries and his lineup has had to change quite a bit week to week and game to game.

Haha I will? but like, you do know it is all opinion.. you might like him better, I don't.
Al Horford
Booz (barely gets the vote)
Dirk even being older
David Lee is a tweener but nobody gives him respect
Kevin Love
Blake Griffin
AMARE
Bosh I guess
Zach Randolph
Luis Scola
Aldridge would be right after the top 10 obvs with guys like David West and Jeff Green.

You're effing joking if you have Bosh, Randolph, Scola and David Lee ahead of Lamarcus. Have you seen him play?
