In other words, it doesn't help when your point guard is a terrible shooter.
Anyone else remember during the past two MVP debates that some people tried to argue that the Cavs were a #7 or #8 seed without LeBron?

Side note to this...
The fact that the Cavs suck now should have absolutely no bearing on how valuable Lebron is this year. I've read a handful of "articles" in the last week that are saying, "Oh yea, look at how bad the Cavs are now with out him and tell me he isn't MVP!!!"

I know people don't want to admit this, but LeBron James is absolutely the MVP at this very moment. Only Derrick Rose stands between James and the three-peat. It took a little while but the pecking order of Miami has finally normalized: LeBron as alpha dog, Dwyane as elite sidekick and Chris Bosh as the necessary third wheel.

Wait, what? The lineup is almost identical and yet went from the NBA's best record to the worst. In fact, I would argue that in some ways it is better: Ramon Sessions > Delonte West, JJ Hickson has a bigger role, etc.

Yah, especially considering he just signed an extension last week. Wow...the two longest tenured coaches in American pro sports lose their jobs within a few weeks of each other, crazy.

Thats definitely being proven untrue, but to be fair this isn't just the Cavs minus LeBron. They've been missing a ton of players due to injury.
But yea, they're terrible. Finally. Last season I had to watch every Cavs game (roommates are all from Akron) and this season I've seen 2. Change is good.

Kobe is not getting it, and no chance Russell Westbrook deserves it. I'd give it to either LeBron or Dirk.

16.5/9.8/4.0
Definitely shouldn't be #1.

The Hornets are the ******* 5th seed in the West purely because of CP3.

David West is no chump and neither is Emeka Okafor. If they had better wing players they would really be a great team. They play great team defense. Nothing against Chris Paul, but his MVP case this year is weaker than at least two of his other seasons.

Yes, but how terrible the Cavs are THIS YEAR has no bearing on how valuable Lebron is THIS YEAR for a completely different team. It just shows how valuable he is overall, specifically to the Cavs the last year or two, or even his whole career til now.
Answer me this...if Lebron was averaging like 20 4 and 3 and the Heat were like 30-20, would Lebron be the top MVP candidate? The Cavs would still be terrible without him, so why wouldn't he? Or if he was having the same season as now, and say the Cavs are 22-27, does that make Lebron less valuable to the Heat this year because the Cavs aren't tanking? How valuable he was to the Cavs before 2010-11 should have absolutely no bearing on how valuable he is in 2010-11. It's MVP of the season, not best/most valuable player currently playing in the NBA over the last 5 seasons.
I'm not saying he doesn't deserve it or shouldn't be considered, because he would and should. I'm just saying the Cavs awfulness this year should have zero to do with it.
Also, I officially hate the Utah Jazz and Deron Williams. They can go die in a horrible train wreck.

Are those your teams or ESPN's? Cause there's no way Hondo and Baylor get left off for Worthy and McHale. Backup PG should be Isiah instead of Stockton, and Shaq should probably make it instead of Erving, Iceman, or Robinson. With that said, the Lakers/Celtics team would dominate. Russell/Kareem/Wilt in the paint is ridiculous.

Oscar, MJ, and Lebron running the break? Yeah, I'm taking that team.

A rumor seems to be going around that the resignation was the end result of frequent squabbles between Sloan and Deron Williams. Supposedly, Williams wanted Sloan gone before even considering remaining in Utah.
It really is starting to look like the players are going to assume more and more control of teams.

Yeah, but the Celts/Lakers have terrible defenders at the Point and Small Forward.

Damn if true I can't say I am on Williams side, though I am a fan.
He should have no say on who is coaching, sure the Jazz' best player but um lets give Sloan some respect.

Well, we'll know how reliable Deron is by 2012- that's when his current contract is up. He bolts, then he's just another backstabber and the NBA takes another step down.

Yup, arguably one of the greatest NBA coaches of the last 20 years, and one of the tops all time. But let's side with the player who, while good and an allstar, is likely going to be JAG compared to point guards in NBA history, let alone overall players in NBA history.
Great choice, Utah.
