Yea, considering they had this whole circus show with the car and choir set up, there was no way in the world they were gonna let Blake Griffin not make it to that point. And why do they let 1 person just be the attention ***** like that? The whole set-up was just ridiculous.

Although the chior did remind me of I Can Believe I Can Fly and Space Jam. Great pieces of pop culture.

I, for one, thought Blake Griffin's dunks were not nearly as impressive as other people say they are.
A 360 degree dunk got him a 49? Seriously? I know a 360 dunk is difficult to do, but I've seen Kobe do it multiple times during the regular season. Heck, there's even a clip of Kobe's 10 best 360 dunks. But the difference is that:
And I share many of your thoughts regarding the car, I expected much more out of it. I realize not everyone can jump over a car and whatnot, but it was just an alley-oop, and there happened to be a car there. Nothing too special. Blake Griffin does alley-oops all the time, he just put a car underneath him.
He should have jumped over the middle of it, even if it was a shorter car or something. Or maybe catch the ball off of the backboard.
Dajuan Blair had a sexy dunk in the rookie soph game that was better than Blakes off the backboard.
It was also better than McGees last dunk too.
I thought the Griffin 360 dunk was sick.
It started off like the Statue of Liberty but then he cocked it back with two hands.
I liked.
I want to know what Blake wanted to do on the dunk attempt which B.Davis was passing it to him off the side of the backboard.
Looked like it was going to be ridiculous.
DeRozan had a great first round. Wish he would of moved on but I'm not sure of who I would have preferred. I thought the first round was awesome.
Ibaka's free throw was impressive but after seeing James White do every dunk from the free throw, a normal free throw dunk just doesn't do anything for me.

Considering almost all those dunks were done in front of the FT line it's not as impressive. Serge did it from beyond the FT line, which as it was pointed out on the broadcast last night, no one has jumped from that distance.

LOS ANGELES – The thin veil of secrecy has torn away now, the pretenses gone and Isiah Thomas has left the shadows and moved into the light again. Once more, he is the New York Knicks’ top basketball executive.
Thomas is driving everything through owner James Dolan – the trade for Carmelo Anthony(notes), the departure of Donnie Walsh and perhaps even the eventual hiring of the New York Knicks’ next president and general manager, multiple league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
“Isiah is calling the shots for New York,” said one front-office executive with knowledge of the Anthony trade talks. “It’s a disgrace. Donnie should walk.”
Thomas wouldn’t blink. After all, that’s his plan: He wants Walsh to leave out of sheer frustration because of Thomas’ meddling, or because Dolan doesn’t pick up the option on his contract in April. For a franchise with a history of inexplicable dysfunction, even this is an episode for the Madison Square Garden time capsule.
Dolan has overruled Walsh in these trade talks and undermined his authority. Walsh has never wanted to give away Raymond Felton(notes) for an aging Chauncey Billups(notes)and throw Danilo Gallinari(notes) into the package, too. This is all Isiah, all his influence.
Thomas doesn’t believe Dolan is inclined to give him his job back, but it almost doesn’t matter anymore. In a moment of truth for this Knicks franchise, in the biggest trade they’ve tried to make in years, Isiah Thomas, the coach of Florida International University, has emerged as the de facto GM.
Carmelo Anthony could be on the way to New York, Donnie Walsh could be on the way out, and one thing has never been so certain: Isiah Thomas has big, big ideas for the future of the franchise.
This trade is vintage Isiah Thomas-era Knicks. They won't be any better as a team, but will have more "star" power and a lot less fiscal flexibility and depth.
If the Knicks were smart, and not run defacto by Isiah Thomas, they would wait for free agency and take the risk. Because a team with Felton, Fields, Anthony, Stoudemire, with Gallinari off the bench would actually be good.

I disagree. Surge just dunked it though. No ****-back or nothing. Just arm straight.
If you can dunk from the same distance that Jordan and Dr.J jumped from and then add a windmill/between the legs/tomahawk...
That's better than a 7 ft tall guy jumping from the free throw... furthest distance or not

Ya, but if they don't get Anthony then they are stuck being the 6th seed in the East year in and year out
'melo's already said he doesn't want to hit free agency, especially with the uncertainty of the new CBA...he's getting an extension by someone before the deadline

That's already been denied by the team. I honestly think the Knicks went as far as they did so they could tell Melo that Denver are just being unreasonable dicks, they really tried all they could but they've gotta back off so that Melo nuts up and tells the Nugs if they're going to continue being dicks he's just going to wait til FA, since he apparently really doesn't want to sign the extension with NJ.

Shut the **** up, you can't do the dunks, so you have no right to either say they were lame or say they were impressive.
I agree. We might as well close down this thread unless we have some posters who are in the NBA. I mean...if none of us can play in the NBA then we clearly shouldn't be able to talk about it

so wait, because we can't do these things, we can't say they weren't as impressive as other dunks?
****, let's just close down this whole forum and not talk about players and the plays the make because, well, we can't make them ourselves.

Clearly you haven't read the last few pages of this thread...
Some smart guy here was saying we can't criticize Blake's dunk because we can't do them. And he wants us to post youtube videos of us dunking.
